I hear you asking, “How on earth do you pronounce that name?” Think of it as ”How Gen” or as we like to say, “HOW’s that aGAIN?”

We, Scott and Susie Haugen, are Haugen’s Hobbies!

I hear you asking, “How on earth do you pronounce that name?” Think of it as ”How Gen” or as we like to say, “HOW’s that aGAIN?”

Glad we’ve got that out of the way. But now I hear you asking, “What kinds of hobbies?”

When we started Haugen’s Hobbies in 2000, our primary interest was making and collecting dollhouse miniatures. We have since branched out into quilting, scrapbooking, and card making.

While we dearly love all these hobbies, you won’t find any of those things on our website. They are OUR hobbies, not necessarily YOURS.

So, what are we doing on ETSY since we’re not selling our favorite hobbies?

Our ETSY store is geared to you, our fellow craft enthusiasts. We enjoy making things especially for you, to help you proclaim YOUR love of all kinds of activities and interests.

How do we do that? The business side of our love of hobbies is creating mugs, shirts, license plates, household decorative items, and other promotional items to help YOU show off to the whole world YOUR love of hobbies.

In case you’re interested, there’s still a whole lot more to the story of how Haugen’s Hobbies came into being.

Back in 2000, we were hard-pressed to find any T-shirts to wear that would let the world know that we loved dollhouse miniatures. We could find shirts promoting love of dogs, cats, model trains, and all kinds of other interests, but nothing for dollhouse miniatures. So, we created T-shirts that we wore to our local miniature club meetings and to local dollhouse miniature shows. Everyone was so impressed with our shirts that they asked us to make shirts for them, too. One shirt led to another and yet another, and another, and Haugen’s Hobbies was born!

We spent several years traveling to dollhouse miniature shows throughout the United States selling our shirts, and eventually branched out into home décor items to celebrate dollhouse miniatures.

Then life interrupted all the fun we were having with Haugen’s Hobbies, and the business sat on the sidelines for 10 years.

But now we’re B-A-C-K! This time with a wider selection of items designed with YOU, our fellow crafters, in mind.

Check out our ever-expanding offerings! We also welcome the opportunity to help you create your very own customized items.
