Very lively company, tacked above the shoe/grasses painting and accompanying Sybil Gibson's "Loose Flowers," in a frame to the side of them. It's like having a living artist working in the room--thank you so much!

This work & its cousin are now enlivening my wall--I do love how active they make the room; late afternoon indirect light, second-story, through birches, falls on the canvas briefly & "dances" with the shoe and grasses.

Derek is a very talented artist. Full disclosure: he's my cousin. His work has always been top notch; equal parts visually stimulating and thought provoking. I've always found his work really impressive because you always have to know a bit of history or pop culture to get the best effect, but even without it, his work has always been really excellent and pleasing to the eye. Unless, of course, he chooses not to be. Buy one of his pieces, and you won't regret it. Attached is a picture of this painting starting the next row in my gallery.
