Announcement
9/13 - Long time, no announcement. (Also, how is it already September 13th?) Not much to report but I wanted to provide a more recent update.
My mom had her last appointment/surgery on Monday so this should be the end of all the medical stuff we've been dealing with since April. Fingers crossed. Which means a return to some routine and normalcy. (And overall boringness would be greatly appreciated. Lol.) I'm currently working on putting the last few things together for Hammer Horror advents which will ship soon. I'm also working on this year's holiday Frankensocks, Hallowthankmas, so those will ship before the month is over as well. Also, in case anyone missed it, if you celebrate Hanukkah and would prefer Hanukkah colorways instead of Christmas, just leave me a note in the "Notes to Seller" section. I've already had a few requests for Hanukkah colorways so they have been dyed, wound and ready to go. Friday the 13th boxes are in the works as well.
All Sailor Moon box #3 orders have shipped. There are a couple left that are currently available, ready-to-ship. I'll get a pre-order listing for Box #4 (episodes 16-20, original series) in the shop soon.
I still have some convos to catch up on from this weekend/week, so if I haven't responded yet, I'm sorry and I'll get caught up this evening.
And I think that is about it as far as news. Hope everyone is doing well! The holiday season will be here soon which is both exciting and anxiety inducing. (Now if the weather would just get on board for fall that would be great.)
7/14 – A bit of an overdue update on shop (and non) news…
The shop is still sparse for the summer/time being. I mentioned in a previous announcement that my mother would be having shoulder replacement surgery back in May that would require additional help/care throughout the summer. Keeping that in mind, and also we went through this last summer (same surgery, opposite shoulder), I’ve kept the shop offerings at at a minimum since this is a busier time than usual. Surgery went well and at the post-op surgeon appointment two weeks later everything was healing nicely and right on schedule. Then my mom did something she shouldn’t have and fractured the shoulder she just had operated on, which has now delayed recovery by at least four weeks. This time last year, she was already in physical therapy and at some point during the month of July was given clearance to drive again. Unfortunately, that’s not the case this time around. And following that, she once again did something she shouldn’t be doing (Believe me, I’ve nagged and nagged to get her to rest and recuperate. It has done me no good.) and nearly dislocated her other shoulder. More than once. Yeah… There have been a few emergency trips to the surgeon’s office in the last few weeks and now I’ve gotten pretty good at popping her shoulder back into the socket myself. AND (I know… There’s more.), in addition to these issues, she’s also had some unrelated health problems since surgery as well. (I’m sure y’all don’t care to read our life story here. So I won’t go into detail.) But needless to say, I have been home very little the past few weeks due to all the doctor appointments, errands, taking care of her and things at two separate houses, etc. It has been quite overwhelming recently. And if you’ve ever cared for someone after surgery, it’s not just caring for that person, it’s making sure that their environment is clean, making sure things are tidy so there's no chance of tripping and falling, doing all the daily tasks and chores that they would normally do but now cannot. Most of the time, I don’t even get to dyeing yarn or taking care of shop stuff until around 9:30-10pm. And at this point, I could write a lengthy chapter on all the places and activities where I’ve nodded off. Thankfully, since I have had so little in the shop lately, the only thing I got behind on was the second box/installment of the Drive-In series (the Roger Corman box). I had hoped to ship them before the end of June, but with everything I’ve previously mentioned, that just didn’t happen. They have all shipped now and I hope everyone finds them worth the wait. And hopefully no one will hold the delay against me too bad. I had planned to offer some new things in the shop this month – new shark week inspired colorways, the next Creature Feature self-striping, Christmas in July, and the next (and probably final of the season) Drive-In installment – but I will have to put some of these on hold. I’m debating offering the next Drive-In box/installment until we see how things are going at the next surgeon appointment on the 19th. As it is mostly just me here (for my mom’s care and the Etsy shop) I don’t want to overwhelm myself with shop offerings when I’m already overwhelmed in other areas of my life. So, I just wanted to give everyone an update since I’ve been pretty quiet on social media as well lately. If you’re still reading this, thanks and I hope this wasn’t a total rambling mess to read.
Oh, and I should probably mention, that this has not affected any of the upcoming advents. I’ve been pretty diligent about keeping on schedule with those as they require a lot of planning and work and I definitely don’t want to get behind. I’ll also be posting a list of Nic Cage movies featured in this year’s Cagemas soon for anyone who would like to know ahead of time.
5/3 - A kind customer let me know that the shipping for June's Spooky Slumber Party was listed as $12.00 (!!!) instead of the usual $4.50. So sorry about that. (I'm definitely not a fan of the new listing format and I think I selected the wrong shipping profile.) Anyway, it should be fixed now. Sorry for any confusion or inconvenience.
5/1 - A bit of shop (and non) related news:
I'm finishing up the last of the orders from the Spring Break sale. Somehow, I always seem much faster at the self-striping yarn prep and dyeing than the actual winding of self-striping to get the skeins ready for use. Anyway, thanks for your patience and if you are waiting on an order from the sale, everything will be out the door in the next few days. Thanks for your orders and support.
A bit of non-shop related news that may affect the shop this summer. My mother is scheduled for shoulder replacement surgery on 5/11. I mention this because she will not be able to do much within the following weeks (months?) and I will be caring for her while she recovers as well as taking her to follow up appointments, PT, etc., until she is given clearance to drive. As it just me here shop-wise and caregiver-wise (I doubt that is an actual word, but just go with it.), I'm certain this will affect my ability to respond quickly to messages, etc. I am not taking any new wholesale orders at the moment so that I may concentrate on the few things I have scheduled for my own shop this summer. Anyway, I just wanted to mention it, just to be on the safe side and keep everyone up to date. And if by chance you have an impeccable memory and/or are feeling like you have deja vu while reading this, it is because this was exactly what was going on in my life last May/Summer, only it was the other shoulder joint that got replaced. Lol.
As always, thank you for the continued support, and if you have any questions, please send me an Etsy Convo or email.
***Bumping this up for Cagemas***
For those who have purchased Cagemas Calendars (2022), here is a list of films that have inspired colorways (in no particular order). If you'd like to know the films in order, please send me a convo and I'll forward that information along. I just don't want to ruin the surprise for anyone, but also figured a list would be helpful if you'd like to watch throughout the month.

A note regarding USPS/shipping: I usually print shipping labels the evening before an order is set to ship. On occasion I may print shipping labels the day of shipping if I know I'll be able to make a trip to the PO later in the day, but for the most part, it is the evening before. If it has been 3 or 4 days since you received a shipping confirmation and you notice that your order has not received a tracking update and/or is still marked "pre-transit," please let me know so that I can look into the matter.
DTO = Dyed-to-Order
RTS = Ready-to-Ship
Base Yarn info is provided in all listings.
Please click on the "Learn more about this
item" link to view full listing info.
Unfortunately, I'm no longer taking wholesale orders at this time. But, there may be some yarns still available at certain yarn stores. My last wholesale orders were to Wild Hand in PA (self-striping minis) and to Fibre Space in VA (full skein self-striping).
*Please call ahead for availability, just to be on the safe side!

5 out of 5 starsI've ordered enough from this shop enough times that I've lost track of how many, and the yarns (and extra goodies that come with them) are always lovely!
