Jen's weavings definitely have an extra something that makes them amazing. I wanted a weaving that was a little bigger than what she was currently showing in her shop, so I asked her if she could do a custom order and I'm so glad I did. Jen was fun to work with and the weaving is absolutely beautiful. It totally lit up the room once I got it up on my wall. It's a fabulous gift to give yourself or someone else!

Absolutely LOVE my new wall hanging! I'd had my eye on it for a couple weeks and finally pulled the trigger, and I'm so, so happy that I did. It completely brightens up my workspace and makes me smile every time I see it! I have lots of artwork, but there is a real warmth and texture that weavings bring to a space that just can't compare.

On the business side, Jen was wonderful to work with! She was extremely accommodating and altered the original listing to allow for local pick-up which was wonderful! The weaving was packaged beautifully and is truly expertly made. The design and detail are just wonderful, and the yarns chosen are gorgeous and of a very high quality.

I cannot say enough good things about Jen and Hawk + Owl Weaving! Do not hesitate to purchase; you will not be disappointed!

About

Weaving to stay sane!

Like so many other female makers like me, I began my love affair with weaving a few years after my twins were born, during a time when I felt like the creative side of me was growing less and less important. I felt a need to make; a need to connect with others on an artistic level again.

From the first time I warped my homemade loom, I felt at peace. Weaving has really proven to encompass many of my different creative loves in one thing and has allowed me a way to be totally engrossed in something that is completely mine. I love sitting down with my hand loom and creating something out of nothing. I don't sketch my designs beforehand, so each new weaving starts with a completely blank slate. I like the challenge that that creates. Sometimes my designs are to my liking, and other times, I'm stuck taking out rows and rows of work. It's all a part of the joy of weaving. I try not to rush it.

I want to find more time to weave; I want to get to know other people that enjoy fiber art and textiles and much as I do. I'm so looking forward to connecting with other craft-loving people through my shop!

I hope you enjoy looking at my weavings as much as I have enjoyed making them. Thanks for stopping by!

Cheers!
Jen

Care instructions

Your woven wall hanging shouldn't need very much care over the coming years besides an occasional dusting! I recommended lightly dusting it a few times a year, just to keep the fibers looking their best. Gently tap it with your hand or a dusting instrument, but don't pull on any of the warp threads! If you play with it too much it might loose its shape.
