This dress is so perfect for me!! I was very picky on how I wanted things done- it had to be the right length on my sleeves and skirt, the right material, it had to hit me at the correct place on my waist, and had to grow with my pregnant belly, but still look good when I'm not pregnant. This dress was custom made for me and could not be more perfect!

I love my dress so much! It fits and is incredibly flattering. I have been searching for a comfy dress that I could dress up or dress down and this is perfect! The material flows nicely over my curves while highlighting my waist. I can run around with my daughter and not have to tug it up or pull it down. It's seriously the best dress that I have ever owned. I'll probably be ordering another one in the future!!!

Confident and comfortable clothing and quilts inspired by my own little Hazelnut.

My mother taught me to sew growing up as we tied baby quilts, made aprons, and later sewed pajama pants, shirts, and dresses. I enjoyed picking out a pattern, selecting my fabric, and seeing if I would actually like it after it was finished. I'm still using my first jean quilt as a picnic blanket!

But I really fell in love with sewing after I started making clothes for my children. My husband and I were living on student loans so I cut up our old clothes, made up patterns, used free patterns, and tried just about every way to clothe my kids for pennies. Some creations were a disaster, but I became determined to make cute, well fitting clothes. I made a blog to document my creations and dabbled in lots of crafts-but kept coming back to sewing.

My first quilt since high school was for my second son. I used a free pattern but actually bought fabric just for the quilt. And for the first time, I quilted the quilt on my machine instead of putting ties all over the quilt. I was hooked.

Now I use patterns to make clothes, but alter and adjust them for fit and style preferences. I love streamlined shapes with a little bit of interest. I've sewn quilts for all my kids beds, throw quilts, baby quilts, cuddle blankets. I love white space and solid colors. I strive to make quality items with a classic, modern, aesthetic.

Oh, and the name for my shop? That's after my fourth baby. We affectionately call her Nut-nut. She knows what she likes, is independent, trusts herself, and is courageous. She just 'goes for it' whether it's getting her own snack, turning a somersault at the bottom of a slide, or learning to dress herself. All of my children inspire me, but I see a bit more of me in my baby. When I watch her, I believe I can, so I will.
