For years I’ve loved to paint. Big, bold colours. I’m not a dainty painter, really quite messy, so the bigger the canvas the better. I’ve painted murals in my apartment, a tangled garden on my fence, a rainforest in my son’s bedroom. But now I’ve shrunk some of my more reasonably-sized paintings into printed cards. The women depicted remind me of people you might run into in Paris in the 1920s - denizens of La Rotonde, La Closerie des Lilas or Le Dome.

History is very important to me. I love making connections between people, time and place. It was like an archaeological discovery for me when I recently came into the possession of some family photographs that revealed a family history I never knew. Some of those images will work their way onto postcards and tote bags.

Thank you for visiting The Plum Plum.

WONDERFUL and UNIQUE PAINTING !!! GREAT ARTIST !!! This is the MAGIC GENIUS ( you must HAVE and can not learn ) to bring themes really to life and make them perceptible with all our senses : the vibrant atmosphere of the 20's - Kiki's eyes, that touch my heart amidst , burning like little flames - a bit shy and expectant, but challenging and hunting as well... Her inner glowing, that pinkens her cheeks - Hazel brings her soul to light even more than on the original photo, where it is more hidden and kept secret. I love the alluring, glossy painted lips - the tactile soft and light fabric, that enfolds her shoulders so tenderly - the sleek, shiny laquered chair - and Hazel needs only a few black-and -white brush strokes, to create an unhurried, friendly waiter in the background !!! Hazel, I wish you to become famous soon, but in your BIG heart, you are already a RICH woman !!!! SUPER FAST shipping to Germany!!! BEAUTIFULLY packaged WITH LOVE !!! VERY KIND contact in my language !!! MERCI DU FOND DU COEUR !!!!!!!!!! n

I keep buying them because I keep using them (or giving them away as gifts). Hazel is Canadian & therefore cannot stand too much praise or fawning--so I'll just say 'brava'. (And go immediately to her non-etsy blog The Clever Pup. The tag line is: interesting articles for interesting people. It's a wonderful read/look. I feel a little bit more interesting every time I visit. Who doesn't like to be more interesting? I can use all the help I can get. Thanks, Hazel.

A set of these are a terrific gift or thank you for someone. Add a notebook with one of the paintings & that's a special gift. These are unique, terrific quality, & the colors are wonderful. Highly recommend. (I keep ordering them, don't I?)
