Best. Bag. Ever! This bag is convenient for the library or grocery store. Pockets for your keys, sunglasses, or a snack. It is very durable and pretty to look at. I LOVE this bag!

Absolutely beautiful bag. The construction is truly excellent, including the fine stitching, seaming, interfacing, and pockets. The interfacing is the perfect weight--the bag can stand on its own but isn't overly stiff. And the fabrics are stunning, with colors that go from vivid and bold to soft and sweet. And wow--so many pockets! You can stow so much in this bag. There's already a knitting project in it and I can't wait to show it off!

Another romantic fabric item in progress, this time a quilted log cabin wallhanging. It's moving nicely, but I think perhaps it needs some flower appliqués and hand embroidery...what do you think?

It may not look like a lot yet, but this is the start to a new bag pattern that I'm trying out for the shop. I think it will be adorable! Bags are one of my favorite creations to make.

A Magical Journey in Fabric

Sewing and fabric were integrated into my life from the beginning. My grandmother always had a craft project going; quilts, crochet afghans, and doll clothes were a constant part of life. Always needed to keep her hands busy, she did, and passed that on to me.

In college I jumped right into the costume shop and worked there throughout. Alterations, construction, and wardrobe changes during theater shows became a part of everyday in addition to my studies.

After college I worked as a seamstress in a bridal shop, then headed back to the theater. While working a regular day job, I costumed shows for local community productions. Soon, however, I realized that there was something else. Something I was missing.

Then art quilting came into my life. As soon as I realized the possibilities with appliqueing fabric and creating animals and landscapes, I was hooked. Autumn found her heart.

Autumn is my creative alter ego. I was born on the first day of fall, and my dad actually wanted to name me Autumn. I resonated with that name, and always signed my creations with a heart followed by Autumn. My shop was born.

I love finding magic mixed in with everyday life, and infuse that light into each project.
