About

heartsabustin

My mom found Etsy five years ago, about two years after we had each started making jewelry. She signed us up, I listed our first items, and heartsabustin was born. The name of the shop comes from a wildflower that grows in the Eastern United States and Canada, in the cool, dark places of the mountains.

My name is Erin, and I am now the sole proprietress of this shop. Every item is carefully handmade by me. Some of my components are vintage. A few of them were handmade items I have found on Etsy. Some of them are even commercial findings that I loved for their sweetness. More recently, I have started fabricating my jewelry from raw materials, and I could not be happier with having achieved that goal.

I've been making jewelry for seven years. I discovered precious metal clay about four and half years ago, and I began doing more serious metalsmithing two years ago. Not that PMC work isn't serious - it's very labor intensive. For me, it was a gateway to learning to cut and solder sheet, to solder bezels, to learn how to create textures and organic feeling in the metal. I will always have a place for both mediums in my work.

I love my job, and I take great pride in creating beautiful jewelry. I also make handcrafted soaps, which I use for myself and sell here on Etsy under SouthernTwistedSoaps.

I was born in East Tennessee and now live in Wilmington, NC. I've been making jewelry for several years now and am starting to really get into metalworking. I have no staff - I run two shops on Etsy with no assistance - outside or otherwise.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
  • Other Method
Payment
I currently use PayPal and Direct Checkout to process all orders. Your payment is due when you submit your order. I also accept gift cards.

Just a quick note about PayPal: PayPal will allow you to purchase using their secure site as a "Guest" even if you don't have an account with them. As some people may not be aware of this, I wanted to make sure everyone knows that.

If I have not received payment from you within 24 hours, I will cancel the sale. Custom orders need to be paid before I will start a project. If we have arranged for a deposit and payment on custom orders, the deposit is non-refundable, as that portion is used to buy materials. Custom orders are not returnable, particularly custom orders that have been personalized.

Any customs fees or VATs for your your country are to paid for by you. I cannot pay these for you, so please be aware of your country's customs policies.
Shipping
I will ship USPS First Class Mail with Delivery Confirmation for all domestic orders. I ship as promptly as possible. If something needs to be shipped more quickly, please let me know, and I will ship using expedited shipping. THERE WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR PRIORITY OR EXPRESS MAIL.

International customers are responsible for any and all customs and other charges associated with international shipping. I WILL NOT MARK A CUSTOMS RECEIPT AS GIFT, SO DON'T ASK. This is highly illegal in the US, and will result in me being fined.

Items over a certain dollar amount will be shipped with insurance. Some items will require signature confirmation.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are dissatisfied for any legitimate reason, your money will be refunded minus shipping and handling and any insurances. The item must be returned within seven days in the same excellent condition it was sent out. I must be notified before any return. Custom orders, particularly those that have been personalized, are not returnable.

It is my suggestion that the item being returned has Tracking added to it for your peace of mind. That way, you KNOW that the piece was delivered to the return address. It only costs a nominal fee to add Delivery Confirmation to a package. The buyer is responsible for all return fees.

Sterling silver and bronze will tarnish and add patina over time. I will not accept returns on items that have tarnished.
Additional policies and FAQs
I ship all items in a gift box or gift wrap suitable for giving.
