I was looking for a smaller dangle that could go with multiple outfits and these really fit the bill. Quality workmanship. Heather even wrapped my purchase in the most beautiful gift box. It was a lovely presentation

I bought these earrings with the green and teal crystals. They are perfect! Wearing with a gown to my son's wedding. The stoppers on the back are a little difficult to get one but the earrings are beautiful ! I highly recommend Heather's design, craftsmanship, and reliability.

Fall is here and leaves are changing to dramatic hues of red, orange, and yellow. Take a cue from nature and add a splash of red to your wardrobe - it's what I call perfect timing!

To Inspire A Smile

The act of creating has always filled me with joy and infused a sense of peace and calm into my life.

It’s a way for me to contribute to the world - to craft with my hands something that didn’t exist before. Something of beauty. Something unique. Something to be shared.

It is my way to share and connect with you. To offer you a new way to connect with yourself - to express yourself and experience feelings of beauty, confidence, and joy.

And hopefully to inspire a smile!

Stitching beads amplifies everything I love about creating. It forces me to slow down - work deliberately and with intention. It’s a form of meditation - creating feelings of peace, calm, and joy.

I look forward to sharing my joy with you in the form of a beautifully crafted piece of handmade jewelry!

Frequently asked questions

Sizing details

In most cases, I have included an image of your handmade jewelry on a dress form or mannequin that’s the size of an average woman. I hope this will give you an idea of what the piece may look like when on. In each product description, I have also included the dimensions of the piece of handmade jewelry.

Care instructions

Gold - filled and sterling silver jewelry naturally tarnish over time. The best thing you can do to combat tarnish is to wear your jewelry - the oils in our skin will keep jewelry from tarnishing!

Your jewelry can also be kept in anti-tarnish bags and with anti-tarnish strips to keep it looking bright and beautiful. If your handmade jewelry does become tarnished you can use a jewelry polishing cloth to shine it up. In some cases you may need to use a polishing cream and tarnish remover.

You’re covered - there’s no risk. If something goes wrong know that I want to make it right! I’m happy to repair any piece of Heather Downes Jewelry FREE of charge when the damage was caused by normal wear and tear. If your piece was run over by a Mac Truck, I’ll need to charge a fee, but let’s figure it out. Send me a conversation so I can take care of you!

Transparent pricing

Open, honest, transparent pricing gives me an opportunity to connect with you about what is traditionally a “hidden” part of business.

The last picture of each product is a chart that shows the following: 1) jewelry supply costs, 2) time to make the piece, 3) labor cost, 4) the total cost of the jewelry, 5) my retail price, and 6) typical retail mark-up.

You’ll notice that my retail price is a bit more than the total cost of the jewelry. The difference here is to cover basic business expenses such as Etsy shop fees, website fees, applications to help me run my business, and a little bit of marketing.
