About

Behind the Shop

ABOUT ME

I was born in the Windy City, where I was an only child for the first five years of my life. I spent quiet afternoons painting while listening to Enya, pretending I had found mini houses in the boxes of big Christmas presents instead of playing with the expensive toys that came inside them, and, of course, drawing on the walls.

I now live in the beautiful Tonto National Forest, full of awesome-smelling pine trees and amazing wild creatures. Since living in this quiet, peaceful place I've found out a lot about myself. For so many people, including myself, there's too many times in life where we feel caged and boxed in.

Sometimes the monotony of our lives and the constant state of hustle can really wear us down. The clock ticks faster and faster and we feel suffocated by the pressure. Our world becomes a prison where we can only dream of a fresh breath of the air outside.

But dreaming isn't living. William Blake saw a cosmic anger at the idea of something meant to be free being trapped. He wrote, "A robin redbreast in a cage/ Puts all heaven in a rage." It's in art, creation, and expression that so many of us find that freedom. I started Heaven in a Rage as a celebration of creativity and how it gives a sense of relief to us crazy people in this crazy world.

Care instructions

Resin is a soft material that is more sensitive than metal and should be handled with care. When not wearing your piece, keep in an air-tight box, container, or bag. To clean your piece, use a mild dishsoap and warm water on a soft cloth or jewelry-dedicated toothbrush. Rub in the soap gently, and rinse in a similar matter. To make your jewelry last for a long time do not bring it into the bathroom when you shower, wear it into the shower, wear it into the pool, or submerge your piece in water at any time. Keep away from perfumes and harsh chemicals. Resin is sensitive to alcohol and could be softened by it.
