On Etsy since 2016

Everyone's favourite baby shower gifts

When I was expecting my first child in 1992 a friend with a serger showed me how to make "these great bibs" out of hand towels. I made several and they saw great use by both of my children and eventually visitors. I bought my own serger and, over the years, made these bibs as gifts for my friends' baby showers. I never failed to get a call from the mother a few months later singing the praises of the bibs since they were so easy to put on and covered the entire baby. Everyone said, "You should sell these!" So eventually I decided to open an Etsy shop with these as my first items.

Not one to waste anything the circles cut from the bibs were edged and became a very useful part of my child raising. They came to be known as "wet cloths" as in "Go get Mummy a wet cloth, please". I always had at least one in my nappy bag or purse, dry and in a zip-top bag, just waiting to be needed. They are a perfect size for small messes & sticky fingers. They have been renamed as Bib Bits paying homage to the beloved Timbits - circles cut out of doughnuts (doughnut holes) at Tim Hortons

When my son started swimming lessons he would tend to drop his towel or drag it through the water on the way to the change room, so I decided to make a bigger version of the bibs as a towel that would stay put and cover him quickly. That was the beginning of the Swim Towels. They were very useful at home as well and kept a then-small boy from dripping all over the house.

All of my products are designed and made by me personally in my 120-year-old Victorian house which is topped by Solar Panels!
