Hi there! I’m Margaret―passionate knitter, spinner, designer, stitch marker maker, and owner of Heidi and Lana. Who are Heidi and Lana? Well, I’m glad you asked…

I grew up on a farm in Ohio and when I was a child my dad got my sister and me each a pet lamb. I named mine Heidi and hers was Lana. Those cute sheep were the start of my love of wool, spinning, and knitting.

Heidi & Lana began in 2011 as an Etsy shop to sell my stitch markers. I loved making and using these markers so much that I wanted to share them with other fellow knitters. A few years later I opened a brick and mortar yarn shop in Sebring, Ohio. At the shop I had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful knitting and fiber enthusiasts. During this time I began designing knitting patterns and then partnered with an American fiber mill to create a line of yarn that’s luxurious to knit with and wear.

I closed my brick and mortar shop in 2017 as the Heidi and Lana line expanded to include yarns, patterns, and accessories that are now available in local and online yarn shops across the United States and Canada.
