Announcement   Thank you for browsing my etsy shop! Everything here is made solely by me, Heidi Kunkel. I'm not a production potter, so while there are a few shapes I make frequently, my pieces often tend to be one of a kind. I also have an etsy shop for my hand knit accessories, www.etsy.com/shop/heidishandknits#. Check out my website (www.heidispottery.com) to see more of my current wares.

All of my glazes are non-toxic, food safe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe unless otherwise noted.

SHIPPING: I base my shipping charges on USPS Priority Mail to the farthest zone. I refund the difference between the posted shipping and actual shipping if over $2.

I am happy to ship world wide. Please convo me first and I'll be happy to check and let you know the exact costs to your address.

Note, I am required to collect 9.5% sales tax when selling to Washington State addresses. If you live nearby (I'm in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle) and would like to pick up your order, enter the code LOCAL at checkout to have shipping costs removed and we can arrange a time and place for you to pickup your item(s).

Please read my Shop Policies prior to placing an order.

Most Sundays, I have a booth set up at the Fremont Sunday Market in Seattle, feel free to stop by and say hi! I also have a showroom in my studio in Capitol Hill. You're welcome to set an appointment to come by and shop there.

I've started a blog! You can follow me at www.heidispottery.blog.com.

LOVE these earrings. I am highly allergic to nickel, and these are one of the only earrings I can wear all day without a problem. They match everything and Heidi was wonderful to work with.

About

From hobby to business...

...isn't that how we all start? The first time I touched clay, as part of a high school art class, I was hooked! I knew right away that this was what I wanted to do with my life, and it was just a matter of making it happen. Throughout college and the following years, I practiced at a community studio, mostly making gifts for family and friends. Finally, I got my own wheel and set up the barest of essentials in my basement, still using the kiln at the community studio to fire everything.
After years of doing pottery as a hobby, I decided to take it to the next level, and I bought my own kiln and moved my studio into its own space. Every year I get closer and closer to being able to be supported by my art!

I've been doing pottery as a hobby for about 20 years, and just in the last few years I've been trying to make a full time business out of it. I still have a part time job, but every sale brings me closer to my dream of being a full time artist!

Payment
I accept PayPal, checks, and money orders. If you pay by personal check, pieces will not be shipped until check clears. I will notify you when your item has shipped.

Also, when you've received and inspected your order, I would greatly appreciate it if you would leave me positive feedback. :)
Shipping
Pieces are generally shipped USPS, though I may use UPS if the size and weight make it more reasonable.

I base my shipping charges on USPS Priority Mail to the farthest zone. I refund the difference between the posted shipping and actual shipping if over $2. Within the USA, I usually send things Priority Mail, as it's faster and less time in transit means less chance of getting broken. Please ask if you are interested in other shipping options.

I am happy to use expedited shipping for additional actual costs. Convo me and I'll let you know the exact extra charge.

I am happy to ship world wide. Please convo me first and I'll be happy to set that up and let you know the exact costs to your address. (For international shipping, any customs, duty, or other charges at the receiver's end are the responsibility of the buyer.)

Local pick up arrangements are welcome. Convo me for details and for an adjusted listing.

*Shipping Materials*
Most times I will try to re-use shipping materials to protect our environment and to help reduce costs to my customers and myself.
Refunds and Exchanges
My ultimate goal is to provide you with a pleasant experience and a product that you truly enjoy. If you are dissatisfied with your purchase please contact me immediately. I offer a full refund, minus shipping, upon the safe arrival of the returned item(s). The customer is responsible for shipping on returns or exchanges. Please contact me prior to sending an item so that I know when to expect it. Custom orders are NOT returnable.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom orders are graciously accepted, but keep in mind that each piece of pottery is unique and it may be difficult to match something exactly. Pieces need to be made, dried, trimmed and decorated, fired, glazed, and fired again, so turn-around time is generally four to six weeks.
