Announcement    Thank you for browsing my etsy shop! Everything here is made solely by me, Heidi Kunkel. I'm not a production potter, so while there are a few shapes I make frequently, my pieces often tend to be one of a kind. I also have an etsy shop for my hand knit accessories, www.etsy.com/shop/heidishandknits#. Check out my website (www.heidispottery.com) to see more of my work.

All of my glazes are non-toxic, food safe, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe unless otherwise noted.

Note, I am required to collect 9.5% sales tax when selling to Washington State addresses. If you live nearby (I'm in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle) and would like to pick up your order, enter the code LOCAL at checkout to have shipping costs removed and we can arrange a time and place for you to pickup your item(s).

Please read my Shop Policies prior to placing an order.

Most Sundays, I have a booth set up at the Fremont Sunday Market in Seattle, feel free to stop by and say hi! I also have a showroom in my studio in Capitol Hill. You're welcome to set an appointment to come by and shop there.

About heidispottery

Sales 183
On Etsy since 2008

From hobby to business...

...isn't that how we all start? The first time I touched clay, as part of a high school art class, I was hooked! I knew right away that this was what I wanted to do with my life, and it was just a matter of making it happen. Throughout college and the following years, I practiced at a community studio, mostly making gifts for family and friends. Finally, I got my own wheel and set up the barest of essentials in my basement, still using the kiln at the community studio to fire everything.
After years of doing pottery as a hobby, I decided to take it to the next level, and I bought my own kiln and moved my studio into its own space. Every year I get closer and closer to being able to be supported by my art!

I've been doing pottery as a hobby for about 20 years, and just in the last few years I've been trying to make a full time business out of it. I still have a part time job, but every sale brings me closer to my dream of being a full time artist!

Payment

I accept PayPal, checks, and money orders, as well as Etsy's Direct Checkout. If you pay by personal check, pieces will not be shipped until check clears. I will notify you when your item has shipped.

Washington residents, 10.1% sales tax will be added to your order at checkout.

Also, when you've received and inspected your order, I would greatly appreciate it if you would leave me positive feedback. :)

Shipping

Pieces are generally shipped USPS, though I may use UPS or FedEx if the size and weight make that more reasonable.

I use Etsy's built-in shipping calculator. Let me know if you'd like to arrange something that the built in calculator doesn't offer.

I am happy to ship world wide. (For international shipping, any customs, duty, or other charges at the receiver's end are the responsibility of the buyer.)

Local pick up arrangements are welcome. Use the code LOCAL at checkout to remove shipping charges if you'd like to come pick up your item(s) at my studio in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle (or the Fremont Sunday Market if I'll be there this weekend - check my website for my schedule).

*Shipping Materials*
Most times I will try to re-use shipping materials to protect our environment and to help reduce costs to my customers and myself.

Additional policies and FAQs

Custom orders are accepted as long as they're within the scope of my work, but keep in mind that each piece of pottery is unique and it may be difficult to match something exactly. Pieces need to be made, dried, trimmed and decorated, fired, glazed, and fired again, so turn-around time is generally four to six weeks.
