About HeidiWestDesigns
Contact me if you like a particular print and/or bag but you don’t see it in my shop. I’m happy to make it for you!
My bags and textiles are created in Portland, Oregon in my studio. They're unique, produced in small batches and made to last.
Always concerned about my impact on the environment, I strive to minimize packaging and use recycled/recyclable materials whenever possible, as well as keep fabric waste to a minimum by printing fabric panels to size.
About me:
I grew up in Yakima, Washington and attended Washington State University where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design.
In 1997, I relocated to Portland, Oregon and worked for several years at an offset printing company, soaking up any knowledge I could gain.
In 2002, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and used my new design skills to fix up a 1926 Portland Bungalow.
After completing my second degree, I continued my career as a project manager and worked for a large corporation for almost 13 years managing new product launch collaterals. Toward the end of my tenure, I received a gift card from a coworker and bought a beginner screen printing kit and taught myself how to print on fabric, something I had always dreamed of doing.
Now, I’m following my passion, working with my hands and creating screen printed bags and textiles full time.
