Welcome to my little shop on Etsy!

I'm really excited to be starting this venture, for a number of reasons. The one that comes to mind right now is that the fabric piles are starting to develop language skills, and unless I want a fabric revolution on my hands, I need to start getting it out of my studio. *grin!* Since I'm a child of the 70s raised by parents from the Great Depression, I can't just throw it out. (Really. I've tried.) So ... This shop is my outlet for all the ideas that pop into my head while working on other people's projects and a way to be able to play with my scraps, keep them out of the landfills, and maybe make someone else happy in the bargain.

Because it needs to be said:
My home/studio is smoke free, but cat friendly. While the fur persons are not allowed in my primary studio, I can't guarantee that their fur won't make it in, and I do occasionally like to work on projects in other areas of the house. I will take every reasonable precaution to remove wandering cat hair from my products, but if you have any questions or concerns, please convo/e-mail me.

Accepted payment methods

  • Pay with Visa
  • Pay with Master Card
  • Pay with American Express
  • Pay with Discover
  • Pay with PayPal
  • Money Order
  • Check
  • Other Method
Payment is due within 3 days of sale for PayPal and 7 days for a Money Order or personal check, please. If I do not see payment within that time or hear from you, I will contact you to see if there is a problem. If I cannot reach you in a reasonable time frame, I will have to cancel the sale. If you think your Money Order will take longer than 7 days to get to me, please contact me. I'll be happy to wait up to an additional 3 days.

MN residents will need to add 7.775% sales tax on some items -- I'll mark them so you know which ones they are and send you a revised invoice. (And yes, I'm in Minneapolis proper, where we have some odd little added sales taxes.)

Please feel free to convo me if you have any questions or problems regarding making your payment.
Shipping Methods:
I ship USPS First Class unless otherwise requested, and will happily combine multiple items for shipping/postage purposes. **Due to the recent changes in USPS postage charges, I expect my pricing for shipping to be in flux for a while.** It is my goal to keep your shipping costs as close to the actual shipping/materials costs as possible, so if there is a significant overcharge on shipping (more than $1), I'll be happy to refund you. If you do need something in a rush, or would rather use a carrier other than USPS, please convo me and we'll work out alternative shipping.

I am afraid that I cannot be responsible for items lost in shipping beyond a refund of your payment. We can then work out if you would like a replacement item made, and if that is in fact possible (some of the fabrics I use are several years old, and may no longer be available.) If you would like to purchase insurance, please note that on your order or convo me, and I'll send you a revised invoice that reflects USPS insurance.

In general, I'll try to send already made items out within 48 hours of payment. This may take an extra day if received late on Friday, for example, but should not otherwise be an issue. If it's going to take me much longer to get an item in the mail I'll let you know that, let you know why it's occurring, and try to make it up to you somehow. Custom items may take longer, and the timeline will be arranged between us.

I do recycle shipping materials (i.e., boxes, padded envelopes) as I can in an effort to keep them out of the landfills. However, if this is a problem for you, let me know on your invoice or via e-mail and I'll happily accommodate your wishes.

Gift Wrapping:
If you want something gift wrapped, I'll be happy to accommodate your request. This may change the shipping price due to added materials. I will be happy to send you an updated invoice to reflect that charge.

International Shipping
I've recently added some International shipping rates. As expected, they seem rather outrageous to me. Please be assured that if I've overestimated on the charges, that I will cheerfully refund any amount over $1 (American) that you have been charged. Your understanding and patience in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Refunds and Exchanges
Regrettably, since most of my items are wearable AND for special occasion events, I am generally not able to accept returns. However, if an item has any sort of defect that makes it unusable, or is not as advertised, I'll be happy to work it out with you. I stand behind my work and want you to be happy with your purchase. Because of that, I urge people to convo/e-mail me with any questions before purchasing my work. I am happy to send swatches so you can see what the fabric really looks like (assuming any is available) on request, or take different/more comprehensive measurements. I'll even take more/different pictures if you want to see something in detail, or a backside that I didn't include. In the event that you love something in my shop but it's just the wrong size, I'm happy to make custom items assuming I still have the materials available. If I don't, perhaps we can figure something else out.

In the event that something needs to be repaired/exchanged due to a defect or flaw, I ask that the buyer pay for shipping the item back to me. I will then gladly pay the return shipping to the buyer.
Additional policies and FAQs
Custom orders are joyfully accepted! My current 'day job' as custom seamstress/costumer requires a lot of collaboration with my clients, and I really enjoy that contact and challenge. There is nothing quite like the energy generated by two (or more!) creative people working on a project together.

Regrettably, I cannot do long distance precise custom fitting of items. I can take your measurements into account, but I cannot guarantee a truly custom fit of clothing items (i.e., wedding gowns). I encourage you to work with a local custom seamstress/tailor for a true custom fit. That said, I'm happy to make less fussy items in general sizes with some adjustability figured in with your measurements in mind. Please contact me if you have any questions!
