About

How I'm living my dream life as The Icelandic Knitter!

I began my professional life as a lawyer in Paris before I made a complete life change and settled in Iceland, where I studied textile and fashion at Iceland Academy of the Arts and worked as a hired girl in a sheep farm as well as a cook and a mountain guide during summertime. Foremost, I'm a knitter, I have always been, and I'm passionate about the rich Icelandic knitting heritage.

I believe that the best way to preserve traditions is to continue using them, giving them new life. This is what led me to create The Icelandic Knitter, richly informed indeed by all the varied skills I had learned in my early years: I published books and articles about Icelandic knitting, as well as knitting patterns inspired by tradition but with a modern twist, I developed Love Story, a range of yarns made of 100% Icelandic lambswool, and I lead knitting and hiking tours of Iceland where Icelandic traditions and culture, breathtaking nature and traditional knitting workshops, perfectly balance one another!
