This is maybe the best quilt yet — I asked for a very specific green backing and Helen went the proverbial extra mile and literal extra miles to Joann to find the absolute perfect shade!

5 out of 5 starsThis review begins with my delight in Helen's expertise in converting my high school letter jacket into a tote bag. In addition to the end product, Helen impressed me with how much she involved me in the design. We discussed what I was looking for in the bag, and she creating an inner pocket, using the jacket's hood as the inner lining, securing the zipper in lieu of the magnetic clasp, and offering options for the strap as well as the material on the bottom (portion). It was really a fun process, and I am delighted with the end product. I am highly recommending Helen to all of my friends (and those on Etsy!) for amazing handi-craft and creative up-cycling needs.

Unique use of repurposed clothing into one of a kind handbags!
I am very fortunate to share a vibrant studio with 6 other artists in a creative environment in downtown Natick, Ma, just outside of Boston. My inspiration comes from so many venues, whether I'm scouting out vintage or classic clothing in a thrift store, or strolling the aisles of a fabric store, or flipping through a fashion magazine, I am drawn to fun and funky designs with lots of attention to details within the garments I use in my handbags. Having grown up around my two grandmothers, one who owned a fabric store, and the other, who was the town seamstress, along with my mother, who taught me how to sew all of my clothes while in high school, sewing and creating was in my blood from the very start. I am so content and happy when I am at my Pfaff machine and the end result of each and every handbag gives me such a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment. Sometimes my mind can't stop coming up with ideas....if only I had all the time in the world, but eventually, I will get around to creating all those ideas that keep me thriving for more!
