About HelloYellowCanary

Inspired by the wings, trees, fins, and seas of beautiful West Coast BC

Good morning/afternoon/evening!

My name is Danielle Brufatto and island love with an overall celebration of the Pacific Northwest lay deep in the heart of everything I create. Drawing has always been my main source of entertainment (and sanity!) and although I have attended North Island College and the University of Victoria for art related endeavours, I am mostly self taught.

Everything within my Shop is hand-drawn with very fine pens and/or painted with gouache. My illustrations are typically inspired by a particular plant or animal, or some lovely combination of the two. While meanings and metaphors are often incorporated into my work, I hope you'll connect to and enjoy them for your own reasons and hope you'll find them to be comforting and calming to keep in your home.
If you've seen my line of greeting cards, pins, and stickers, you may notice this is my outlet for a love of puns and general wordplay and it's where the stranger, sillier, softer parts of my brain are unleashed. These items are all specifically designed to make you smile with your favourite people, and they have a focus on encouraging mental wellness and support.

Thanks for visiting and please don't hesitate to get in touch, I'd love to hear from you!

Returns and exchange details
If you're not happy with your order for any reason, please send me a message and we will see about making it right! Shipping costs would be up to you for any returns or exchanges. If exchanging a perfect condition item, please send it back in a rigid or bubble mailer.
Payment
Once I have received your payment, I will ship your item(s) within 1-5 business days. If you have any problems doing so, please send me a message and we'll see if we can figure it out!
Shipping
Your order will be sent through Canada Post as a regular Lettermail item which does not include tracking. I have shipped thousands of items with them and very much trust them with your order! Having said that, I am sorry, but I can not be responsible for lost or stolen items once they have been placed into their capable hands, so please double-check that your address is correct when placing your order (items returned to me will require additional shipping fees to be sent out again). Please don't hesitate to reach out if there are delivery issues so that I can be made aware of them!
Once shipped (1-5 days after payment) you should have your order within about 10 business days* (*some international orders could take longer, especially right now with COVID-related delays - making all delivery times very hard to predict!). Note that any delivery dates you see provided by Etsy are estimations and though usually fairly accurate - should not be taken as exact during these strange times.

If you require your item(s) by a certain date, please take into account weekends and local holidays (on both my end and yours) when placing your order.
Don't hesitate to message me if you do have a certain date in mind, and I will do my best to work with you to try to get it out a little faster! In this case, I would strongly suggest upgrading your shipping to include tracking, so that you may see exactly where it is and when it could arrive.
If you would like to upgrade the shipping on your order so that it includes tracking and gets to you a little sooner but don't see the option - please shoot me a message :)

Customizations to Prints & Commissioned Works

Thank you for your interest! I am so sorry, but at this time, I am fully booked for custom and commissioned pieces.

Wholesale availability

I would love to work with you! All of my items (and much more that isn't here on Etsy) are available to order Wholesale. Please contact me here or at danielle.brufatto@gmail.com for catalogues and more information. Looking forward to talking with you :)

Sizing details

8.5x11 sized prints are standard to what might be labelled as a "Document", "Certificate", or "Letter" frame. Most of my prints these dimensions are also designed to be matted into a (more common) 8x10 window in a frame that is typically 11x14 (which is a standard size as well).

Care instructions

Like any paper prints, they live their best lives in rooms that are kept dry. Over time, slight warping may occur if placed in areas of frequent high humidity (ie. next to a shower).
