5 out of 5 starsLeather bag is really well-made and I love the smell of it! The coin looks nice and it’s easy to use the drawsting to tighten, tie, or loosen. Could fit a surprising amount of small Japan-themed items I got for Christmas stocking stuffers for my husband! Shipped quickly and safely!

Me, working in my shop. It's the real deal here!
Hendywood
Hi, I'm Karen. I personally made all of the items you see in this shop.
I try to create interesting, rustic jewelry and other items from wood, glass, and stone. The wood typically has knots, voids, mineral streaks, and spalting. It all adds uniqueness and beauty to the finished product. Some of my wood is donated to me by thoughtful friends and many times I just pick up wood from my yard and neighborhood which is filled with large beautiful oak trees. This gives me the opportunity to hand-select wood native to North Florida. Most of the stones are from Michigan.
The coins for the jewelry in my shop were collected, drilled, cleaned, and polished by me. I research every coin to try to find the most interesting and accurate story about each piece.

I grew up and still live in Jacksonville, Florida. My mother was a teacher and my father was a carpenter. Therefore, I grew up in a household of modest means. The value of an education was not a choice, but a requirement. If something was broken, you fixed it or you went without. Needless to say, I've always been comfortable around power tools.
I am a semi-retired middle school science teacher and spend my weekends honing my skills in my workshop. I'm also a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Years ago my students nicknamed me Mrs. Hendy. I have kept that name ever sense and consider it a privilege to be called Mrs. Hendy. Once I started my woodworking, another teacher suggested combining Hendy and wood creating the name Hendywood.
