Extremely happy with this hat. I have been looking at waxed canvas hats for awhile and when I saw heritage and hide was making some I knew I had to have one. You won't be disappointed with any of his work.

This is my third wallet from heritage and hide and as always I am very happy with it. It is very well made and just looks great. Can't wait to see how it ages.

Great looking leather ring! Well finished and well made. Fit is spot on. I can’t wait to see how this thing ages and evolves! Also, notice the awesome leather bracelet in the photo I posted, also made by Heritage and Hide.

Amazing "Brogue" wallet in whiskey shell cordovan. It takes a top notch leatherworker to really bring out the beauty in shell cordovan and Shane is that guy! This is my second wallet from Heritage & Hide and I could not be more impressed. Construction is impeccable, design is unique and highly functional, and both communication and delivery times were fantastic. Highly recommended!

Amazing and well made mousepad in nice supple leather just like I was looking for. Looks very high end. Beside using it as a mousepad, I also use it to help protect my laptop when inside my bag. Thank you for such a great item.
The "Heritage" of American craftsmanship handmade from "Hides" of quality leather!
The name "Heritage & Hide" was created to represent the heritage of days gone craftsmanship that gave "Made In USA" a reputation of quality and dependability. Hide is the section of animal skin that has been treated, turning it into usable leather. Every time I put my hands to work I feel a link to the past, hopefully you feel the same connection when using one of my items.
My name is Shane David, and I am the sole maker for H&H. I began making leather goods for friends and family members in my home located in Pennsylvania USA. Eventually the requests for custom orders increased and I decided to make a part time business out of it. While I no longer accept custom orders due to lack of available time, I do intend to revisit custom work at some point in the future. Every item I create is made slowly with passion and pride. I use a modified saddle hand stitching technique with strong thread that I wax by hand. Proper hand stitching produces a stronger, longer lasting stitch than a machine can, however it takes much longer to make. My finished edges are done by hand as well, never painted on and never with a machine (some edges are left intentionally unfinished). Everything is truly handmade, using only the finest materials I can source. Thank you very much for your interest in my items and for your support of American handmade goods.

Frequently asked questions
Wholesale options are not currently available, please contact me if interested in becoming a stockist.
Custom and personalized orders
Due to lack of available time, I usually do not accept custom orders. Feel free to inquire if you have a project in mind and I will advise and quote if I can work it in. Thank you.
I try to note sizing of critical dimensions in their individual descriptions. Please reach out to me if you have any additional sizing or dimension questions. It is highly recommended that you carry a consistent quantity of cards in a wallet (if card pockets are open) as the leather will mold to fit over time.
Prevent leather from being exposed to water when possible as it can change the shape, size, color and flexibility of the leather. Oil, wax or moisturize as desired based upon wear and exposure, although most treatments will change the color or finish of leather slightly. I recommend "Smith's Leather Balm" for your leather conditioning needs. In many cases you can do nothing and leather, if not subjected to abuse, will age beautifully. Direct sunlight, contact with the oils from skin, heat or sweat will typically darken natural VegTan and other lighter color leathers in a way that many people find attractive.
