About

From Nature To Art: For a Unique You

My entire life I have had a passion for art and have always felt the need to create. Spending most of my life surrounded by woodland, I also grew to love the beauty of nature and I incorporate this in all my art. Each item I create tells its own story and becomes a unique reflection of who you are.

One day after a wonderful vacation with my husband in Copper Harbor, MI, I decided I wanted to take a different direction in my art. Not that I had grown tired of my trusty old paintbrush, copper leafing and powdered graphite, but I just wanted to take on something that presented a different challenge and still be able to create beautiful things with my own two hands. Jewelry provided me with such a wonderful opportunity and allows me to create unique works of art from a coil of wire or something as simple as a scrabble tile.

In addition to wire jewelry and painted scrabble tiles, I also love to create vintage style jewelry which reflects my inner gypsy with playful themes and rich colors.

I strive to create quality products that you will cherish for years to come. To achieve this, I use quality products and all metal jewelry parts, chain and charms are nickel and lead free. My wire wrapped jewelry is tumbled in a professional tumbler to make it more durable and to polish it to a beautiful sheen (exceptions are wire wrapped pearls as they cannot be tumbled and are polished by hand). I go one step further and treat each wire wrapped item with a product called Renaissance Wax. It is a professional museum quality product that is renowned for its preservation qualities and it protects the patina. You can wash it with soap and water and it doesn't rub off.

I've come a long way in the time I've owned my business and I'm learning and growing from my experiences every day.

Frequently asked questions

Gift wrapping and packaging

All my jewelry comes ready to gift at no additional cost in either a muslin bag or in a small kraft box tied with baker's twine. You can see examples in many of my listings. Destash jewelry making items are not gift wrapped.

Wire Wrapped Jewelry Care

All wire wrapped jewelry is treated with Renaissance Wax, a museum quality product designed to protect and preserve the natural beauty and patina of metals and will protect your jewelry for years to come. Jewelry without a patina finish will eventually develop a beautiful patina over time as well. It also acts as a skin barrier for those with allergies, and should not rub off under normal wear.

To clean, use nothing more than mild soap and water, this will not affect or remove the wax. Do not use liquid commercial jewelry or copper cleaners.

You can use a lint free jewelry cleaning cloth to bring the shine back into your jewelry, but take care not to bend any wire.

Also I do not advise showering or bathing with your jewelry.

Scrabble Necklace Care

Although the resin is water resistant, it is NOT waterproof. Please remove your pendant before showering or swimming!

To clean, use a damp cloth and avoid paper towels as they may leave surface scratches in the resin.

If your pendant’s surface appears dull even after a good cleaning, it could be from a buildup of skin oils, hairspray, or lotions. First, try rubbing a bit of vinegar on it with a cotton ball or soft cloth, do NOT use paper. If that doesn’t work, dry it and spray a gentle coating of a clear gloss non-yellowing varnish available in any hardware store.

Sari Silk Care

Sari silk ribbon can be washed as needed using mild soap and cool water. Pat dry with a clean towel and allow to air dry away from direct sunlight to keep the color vibrant.

Most ribbon has also been left to its raw and un-edged beauty and if it becomes too unruly, you can very carefully trim the fringe using scissors as desired. Parts of the ribbon are possibly sewn together and are also part of its raw, free-spirited beauty. Silk, although strong, can be delicate and care should be taken not to tug or yank the ribbon too hard.
