Frequently asked questions
Does Heyday use safe ingredients?

Yes! The Environmental Working Group (ewg.org) maintains a Skin Deep® Cosmetics Database which provides information on personal care product ingredients from the published scientific literature, to supplement incomplete data available from companies and the government.

EWG ranks ingredients on a scale of 1-10, with 1 being the lowest hazard and 10 being the highest hazard. All ingredients used by Heyday are ranked 3 or lower, with the majority being 1s and 2s.

How long will my soap last?

This will depend on a lot of factors, but Heyday soap bars should last roughly 1 month when used in the shower and 2-3 months when used as hand soap in the bathroom or kitchen.

How can I make my soap last longer?

Using a soap dish will significantly lengthen the life of your soap. Soap should be allowed to dry out between uses. The worst thing you can do for your soap is allow it to sit in a puddle of water between uses, or in a stream of water (such as in the shower).

Why does my soap seem "wet"?

If you notice small beads of moisture on your soap bar, it may be the victim of "glycerine sweat". But fear not! This is a natural phenomenon that can occur when soap is stored in a humid environment.

Glycerine is a by-product of saponification, and therefore a major ingredient in most soaps. Glycerine is a humectant (a substance that preserves moisture) and can absorb moisture from the air, which then collects in small beads on the surface of your soap.

To prevent glycerine sweating, soap that is not currently in use should be wrapped in plastic and stored in a cool, dry place (so not in the same room as your shower).

Does Heyday make custom and personalized soaps?

I will gladly work with you on a custom order. If there is a specific scent, color, or pattern that you can't find in my store, let me know and I may make a special batch just for you!

Please contact me directly for wholesale pricing on orders of 20 bars or more.
