hhammock's Shop Announcement

Thank you for visiting my shop. I make quilled paper decorations, ornaments and more. Quilling or paper filigree is an art form that involves rolling strips of paper, shaping then glueing them together to create decorative designs. It got it's name because paper was wound around a porcupine quill or goose feather quill to create a basic coil shape. Today quillers use all sorts of tools including crimpers, tweezers and dowels. In the 18th century, quilling became popular in Europe where "gentle ladies of quality" practiced the art.
All my designs are original and adapted to create ornaments or embellishments that are suitable for many uses. I use mainly closed loose coils so that each piece is sturdy and able to be gently handled. You may also find open coils, Wheatear coils, alternate side looping, tight coils, fringing and zig-zags in other types of quilling. Keep in mind, these designs are made of paper and should be handled gently and kept away from moisture. I seal all my pieces with a light coat of clear high gloss spray sealer.
I hope you enjoy my shop and if you have any questions or have any special requests please convo me.
