Announcement    Hello and welcome to my shop!

**MEMORIAL DAY SALE - MAY 20 THROUGH MAY 27 - 20% OFF IN-STOCK PAINTINGS PLUS FREE SHIPPING!**

I'm a self-taught painter, living in beautiful central Arkansas. I started my Etsy shop when I re-discovered my love for art. It just made sense to give small business a try. I've only been painting for a few years, and am flattered that I have a few collectors across the US.

My goal is to create, on canvas, the beauty around us that we sometimes miss because of the hectic pace of everyday life.

I have a fondness for moody, broody landscapes...especially marshes. I love the colors of a stormy sky, and the unlimited ways to depict wetlands...just takes a little imagination! Over the years, I've come to realize that dark skies and landscapes do not necessarily have to be gloomy. They can be very interesting, and frequently evoke feelings of relaxation, and sometimes a little nostalgia. I take a lot of photos of the southern states which I reference often, but also rely on memories and imagination in my paintings. I work primarily in oil, but do use acrylics occasionally. I love that my paintings usually take on their own personality as I'm working on them. Unless I'm working on a custom order, I usually just go with whatever is in my mind. My art is truly and extension of myself. Occasionally, you may even see evidence of 'pentimento' in my oil paintings, where the painting started out with some elements, but I changed my mind and painted over. This is an Italian word for 'repent'.

I do most of my work from my studio in our home, and can be found there most evenings and weekends.

I use only professional grade paint, canvas, and varnish, as producing quality work is what I strive for. All of my paintings are done completely by hand, from sketch to varnish. My art and my shop are extremely important to me, and my goal is to make my customers happy. I make it a priority to provide prompt responses to questions, and correspond regularly when working on a commissioned piece. I promise you will never feel ignored or unimportant.

*If you would like a custom order, please message me and I will create a listing just for you :)

** I really try to represent the colors accurately. These may look a little different on your computer monitor. I am always happy to provide more photos, so please don't hesitate to ask.

**As always, if you are happy with your painting, reviews are always appreciated. and very important to a small business. If you are not satisfied, please message me and I'll be more than happy to work with you. You will receive the exact painting that is pictured, unless the listing is specifically 'made to order' and the photo is an example. This will be clearly stated in the description**

**If you are interested in a painting and have additional questions not answered in the item description, please feel free to message me. Normally I respond in an hour or two**

About

Painting a Dream...

Hello and welcome!

**MEMORIAL DAY SALE MAY 20 - MAY 27! SAVE 20% PLUS FREE SHIPPING ON IN-STOCK PAINTINGS**

I'm a self-taught painter, with a natural love of the moody skies and landscapes. I always try to capture the beauty around us, but that we sometimes miss because of the hectic pace of everyday life. I'm a HUGE Dave Matthews Band fan, so I'm almost always listening to them when I paint. Their sound really brings out the minimalist, moody landscapes I love to paint so much! I prefer to paint with oils...especially landscapes...but also use acrylics occasionally.

For my landscapes, I reference photos taken during Key West vacations, childhood memories, scenery around our house, my imagination, etc. I also take a lot of photos when we are on road trips. I have a fondness for the delta area, so frequently paint scenes from Mississippi and Louisiana. All of my paintings are done completely by hand, from sketch to varnish. I really try to create scenes that will draw a person in and evoke memories, relaxation, etc.

All of my paintings are original. You can feel comfortable knowing that anything you purchase from my shop is hand painted by me. Also, unless a listing is marked 'MADE TO ORDER', you will receive the exact painting in the photo on the listing. I really try to represent the colors accurately, but these may look a little different on your computer monitor. I am always happy to provide more photos, so please don't hesitate to ask.

**I will soon be offering prints of my original oil paintings. These listings will be clearly marked as 'FINE ART PRINTS', and I will also note if the original painting is still available. These prints will provide a more affordable option to own original art.

I'm a registered artist with Arkansas Arts Council, a member of Arkansas League of Artists. Also, I'd love if you follow my blog and FaceBook page, which offer a glimpse into the rest of my life as well as updates on various works in progress.

Commissions are always welcome, so feel free to send me a convo if you have a special landscape or pet portrait you'd like to have painted. I check my shop activity at least once a day, so you will receive a prompt reply. Customer service is my number one priority, as there is no bigger compliment than repeat business.

Thanks so much for looking!
