My name is Joanna, and this business all started with a desire to make baby blankets. Since its start, my passion has morphed into making handmade items for women and babies to creating beginner friendly crochet patterns to hand dyeing yarn.

5 out of 5 starsI have been searching for the perfect yarn to knit a Monarch Butterfly/Papillon shawl and this is it!!!! The shade is elegant, not Halloween-like, with tremendous depth and subtle variations. The saturation of colors almost glows. As a bonus, it is a up delight to knit with- soft, no splitting. As I live in central Mexico, I have been fortunate to witness the the wonder of overwintering Monarchs. The Monarch is associated with el Día de los Muertos, and I wanted to knit this shawl for the occasion. I cast on the day the yarn arrived and it is PERFECT! I’m loving every stitch and so glad I found High Desert yarns.
