To reduce waste, whenever possible, I re-use shipping materials as long it won’t sacrifice the protection of your items.
I have chosen not to offer free shipping because it wouldn’t really be free; the cost would be rolled into the price of the item. I ship worldwide, so the amount I would have to add to the item’s price would be the cost of shipping to the most expensive destination. In other words, a buyer in nearby Spain who buys an item (all items are shipped from my studio in France) would pay the same price as a buyer in the US, even though my cost is less. It’s not fair to the buyers or to me. As it is, I absorb part of the shipping costs because I want to be fair & don’t believe in padding prices just to make a little extra money.

5 out of 5 starsBased on a picture of a previous needle case that Holly had clad in beads, I asked if she could make another one for me to give as a gift to my wife. Holly completed the work much more promptly than I had imagined, the needle case is beautiful and matched the photo of the original, my wife loved it. It was supposed to be just a random gift, but it arrived on Valentine’s Day—even better! I have purchased other items from Holly/Hillcrest in the past as gifts for my wife, daughter, and daughters-in-law. All have been thrilled with them. Holly does quality work, her designs are unique, and she is pleasant to do business with.

I love the view from my studio!
All of my life I have been doing some sort of handcraft, from knitting, crocheting & needlework when I was very young, to the beading I did when I was a teenager. One day in 1999, I walked into the bead store across the street from where I worked, & I was hooked again! I have been making precious, semi-precious and hand beaded jewelry since then, originally intending them for my own use. Friends (strangers, too) kept offering to buy my jewelry right off my body, so I decided to start selling my creations, and now I'm offering my one-of-a-kind pieces here.
My designs are influenced by the places I've lived -- New York City, San Francisco, Kauai & currently Languedoc (France) -- as well as the many places I've traveled across the U.S. & the world. One of my favorite things is exploring different techniques & materials. I am constantly amazed at the wide range of things I can create from simple materials. Come back to my shop often to see what new items I add.
My chain maille design was featured in the March 2012 issue of BeadStyle Magazine & in the book "52 Bracelets" published by Kalmbach in 2012. It was the first chain maille piece I made & it was published in a major magazine! Woo-hoo! :-D
All items are made and kept in a pet-free/smoke-free environment.
