With rows and rows of butterfly boxes in studio, I can't help but fancy myself a collector of fine color. :)

Hello! I'm Jacqueline! Let's make magic together!
Bringing the Outdoors in
Hello! I'm a country girl tom boy who grew up climbing trees, playing in creeks, catching frogs and searching beneath rocks for signs of life. When I moved to Philadelphia as an adult, I found the city stimulating in so many ways, but also lacking in the type of life and beauty I grew up around.
I began making paper butterflies for myself as a way to reconnect with nature in my urban surroundings. I fashioned my living space into a cathedral of nature with all the winged creatures I imagined might've once occupied that space of land on a warm summer afternoon hundreds of years ago. Even though the butterflies were only paper, they were important reminders of what was lost, reminders to cherish and protect our Mother Earth. And so they restored a bit of that missing beauty.
In late 2010, I began Hip + Clavicle so that I could give that gift to others. Because it's so very important to surround ourselves and our loved ones, especially our littlest ones, with reminders of how beautiful and amazing this world can be.
Over time my shop offerings have expanded. For example, I make dragons now because I love to dream beyond the limitations of this world! But the core principle is the same, to be inspired by and to cherish this amazing place where we all live. And to make it just a bit prettier. :)
