The Best Handmade Baby Shower GIfts
Looking for a unique handmade baby gift that will be the talk of the shower? My Hip Violet bibs are not only oh-so-cute, but they are practical too!
When my oldest daughter Violet started eating solids, I was so frustrated with having to change her clothes after every meal despite the tiny bib she was wearing from the big-box stores. So I started making my own!
My best selling baby bibs are made out of vintage bed sheets - these blast-from-the-past baby gifts were taken straight from your childhood bedroom! Think Rainbow Brite, Star Wars, New Kids on the Block and many more, all in the form of a super cute baby gift.
Hip Violet bibs are all oversize and for a good reason - gone are the wardrobe changes after baby's every meal - Hip Violet bibs are made huge to actually cover their clothes. All of my bibs also include toddler-proof snaps in two sizes to fit all little eaters, and they are easy care too - just machine wash and dry.
And a note about my shop name - when Violet was 6 months old she was diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia. Over the next year, she had to undergo several procedures and surgeries and spent 6 months in a full body cast. She was always so sweet and positive through the whole thing - she is my inspiration! At 7, she had to undergo yet another surgery and another 6 weeks in a body cast (not QUITE as easy as when she was a baby) - however today you would never guess that this dancing, running, jumping sunshine ever had a problem!

Frequently asked questions
Why are your bibs so big?
Yes, my bibs are HUGE! Compared to the tiny bibs you're used to anyway! At approximately 11" x 13.75" you'll find that my bibs actually cover their clothing from shoulders all the way down to their lap so you'll no longer need to change their entire outfit after every meal!
Will your bibs fit around my toddlers neck?
Worried that this bib won’t fit around your little one’s neck? Keep in mind that most bibs you see are much smaller so the neck hole LOOKS bigger by comparison. I even offer two snap settings to grow with your baby! An average-sized 2-year-old can still fit on the smallest snap size!
Regular bibs have a neck opening approximately 10.75"-11.5"
Special Needs bibs have a neck opening approximately 11"-12.75"
Why don't you offer plastic-fronted bibs?
The front of my bibs are made with either cotton or flannel - both of which are great at absorbing liquids, unlike vinyl coated bibs where liquid drips right down and into your little one's lap. My bibs are backed with moisture-wicking and breathable fleece which stops liquids from going through to their clothing.
How do I keep my bibs and onesies clean?
All of my bibs & onesies are easy to care for! Simply machine wash and dry. I have bibs that are more than 2 years old that have been washed hundreds of times and still look great! The fleece on the back may get a little pilly, but the front will stay as beautiful as they day it was purchased!
How do I take care of the snaps?
My bibs all come with toddler-proof snaps with two setting to fit newborns through age 4 or 5 (actually, they fit around MY neck!). I have found that sometimes the snaps can become a little warped and no longer snap properly. I am always happy to fix these snaps for you for free. Contact me for more info!
