Hobart Collectables opened one gorgeous gin soaked Summer afternoon (hence the original spelling Hobart Collectiables) as a way to give a few of our amazing antique and vintage collectible finds a new breath of life and clear up our overly filled house.
From there the store took on a life of it's own, and from being our own personal virtual garage sale has turned into an all consuming monster, which combined with our love of op-shopping has meant it continues to grow at a tremendous rate.
We strive to bring you the best antique and vintage collectibles sourced from throughout Australia at the best prices, because we believe that the joy of collecting shouldn't be reserved for those with a big disposable income, and that the best way to enjoy your new treasure is to look at it, hold it and use it, rather than lock it away for safety's sake.
We originally began operating from our lounge room but have since mid 2010 expanded to take over our spare back room, totally separated from the main house with it's own back entrance, guaranteeing a smoke and pet free environment for all your treasures whilst still allowing our darling daughter a small black cat named Circus.
The majority of our stock comes from not for profit organisations, and the majority of our profit goes back into acquiring new stock, so by collecting through us not only are you picking up some true gems from the past but you are also indirectly helping out those in need and the organisations that support them.

We're quite happy to place items on hold for you for up to 3 days, or longer by arrangement.
Tasmanian customers are more than welcome to pick up items directly from us to save postage costs - simply use 'HOBART' as a coupon code at checkout and postage will be deducted automatically and we'll arrange a time with you to drop around.
We pack items as carefully as possible, however cannot accept responsibility for anything damaged or lost during transit. We suggest insurance for all our items, however to keep postage costs down we don't include it, so please contact us to find out the additional price and to have it arranged
