As a kid, I, along with many of my friends were hooked on the childrens’ television programmes from the mid 1960s to early 1970s - Batman, The Man From UNCLE, The Avengers, The Prisoner, Catweazle, Timeslip, The Singing Ringing Tree, Children Of The Stones, A Ghost Story for Christmas, Clapperboard, The Owl Service, almost everything produced by Irwin Allen, Monty Python, Doctor Who, all of Gerry Anderson’s output (apart from Terrahawks!) and anything by Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin.

I adored, and still do, ‘50s and ‘60s Children’s Film Foundation productions (thank you to the Odeon in Rhyl!), Ealing, Hammer, Tigon and (especially) Amicus portmanteaus. I also loved the films that went on to become ‘folk horror’ classics - The Wicker Man, The Blood On Satan’s Claw and Witchfinder General.

My favourite films of all time are Night Of The Demon, Quatermass & The Pit, Village Of The Damned, Don’t Look Now and Dead Of Night. You won’t find a Freddy Krueger, Leatherface or Jason in my shop - you’re more likely to find the demon from Penda’s Fen or Wicker Man figurines!

From between 1979 and 1982 I studied illustration at Camberwell Art School. Although I continued with my art, I went on to spend the next 30 years working in the music industry. When Covid came along I was put on furlough so decided to get my art materials out and become creative again!

The models I produce are mainly influenced by the television and films I loved as a child and teenager.
