I am not what I am, I am what I do with my hands. -Louise Bourgeois

Painting has always been my first love, but while pursuing my BFA I had a small love affair with printmaking and briefly contemplated making that mistress my second major. After a few years, I was feeling as if I need a break from what I had been painting to sort out my direction. Soon after I bought a Gocco printing press and found myself in mass production. My simple and fun creative endeavor had taken on a life of it's own. And so was the birth of Holey Socks Art.

The years have brought about changes and with that my art has changed and grown as I have. Sitting around at the kitchen table my kids helped to remind me of the fun and magic of shrink plastic. At first I made a few things for myself, then friends, and then I was hooked! Today I love making jewelry that reflects myself and the culture in which I continue to grow. I love my Gocco (forever!!) and continue to make cards and prints, as well.

Now a mother of two wild but wonderful twin girls, painting is a luxury I cannot afford. Art (and life) has become something that needs to be portable, clean and more immediate. I have developed a love for markers, colored pencils, and embroidery and continue to find new ways to "paint" every day!

But above all else, it has always been important to me that art be accessible to all people; I try to keep the price of items as reasonable as possible and cut down costs to buyers wherever I am able (grouping items during shipping for no extra, etc). By offering jewelry, prints & functional items, as well, it is possible to allow you to indulge in and share your admiration for the handmade arts with your family and friends.

I always enjoy getting questions or feedback about my work so if there is something you want to know or to discuss wholesale options, please feel free to convo me! I am an artist, after all, and am happy to go on all day long about my process or anything else. I am a SAHM so mostly I'm just happy to converse with grown ups for a change!

If you are simply interested in stocking me you can find me on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram (@holeysocksart), via blog http://www.holeysocksart.com, or find exclusive products on www.society6.com/HoleySocksArt that you won't find here!

I also run a monthly newsletter you can sign up for here: http://eepurl.com/XDbID

I hope that my products will bring you as much joy as they brought me in creating them.

When purchasing multiple items, I try to mail things together whenever possible to cut down on cost to you and lower my global footprint on the world. However, this may not always be possible depending on the items ordered.

Do not place prints on walls that receive direct outside light for any length of time. Using UF3 plexiglass instead of normal glass will reduce light damage.

Humidity can also effect prints. If the humidity is too high, prints may be damaged by mold. If the humidity is too low the paper may become brittle. If the environment swings between the two extremes you may find that the print buckles.

As with all works of art dust and pollution are also harmful. As a general guide to caring for your prints keep them in a clean and well-ventilated area.

When handling unframed prints, make sure you work with gloves or very clean hands. Finger smudges, dirt, or dents and tears caused by carelessness will affect the beauty & value of your print
