About

My world of historical wonder...

I've always had a love of old things...guess it was all that exploration in my grandmother's house. I had to know what everything was and what it was for - there were wonderful finds from WWII from my grandfather and wringer washers and loads of pretty things to try on!
In high school I discovered a place called Gypsy's which was always chock full of jewelry and fashions from the turn of the century through the 60s...I always came home with something and even got my mother hooked on visiting often to see what new treasures had been brought in...even bought my prom dress there - a 1930s satin wedding dress which we cut the train off of to become a cape!
In college I studied music and got involved with opera and theatre so my love of the old just grew with the magnificent costume shops I was constantly in...later it would become a second career...
I then became a mom of 4 and would take them out on my scavenger excursions and try to get them to appreciate the history and beauty of each and every find...sometimes successfully as my son loves to still go out and see what he'll discover!
I hope that you'll grow in your love of all things from our past and share it with those you care about...we can learn so much from the objects that our ancestors used daily - and that awesome patina just can't be replicated!
Thanks for stopping by and hopefully you'll find something here that catches your fancy!

Greetings!

You've just found some of my favorite things! I love to create and surround myself with things that have history and age. Most of my favs are made with lace and fabric but I could go on and on about anything sweetly vintage.

I strive to use the best quality materials and craftsmanship in my work and buy only great condition 'found' items as well(if I wouldn't keep it for myself than I won't buy/make it).

I love to get commissions for one-of-a kind designs...so don't be afraid to ask! I've done quilts from clothing, curtains from hankies, table runners from many things and of course clothing from bedspreads and other old upholstery fabrics. The sky's the limit! If you can dream it(and describe or send photos) we can create it!

Thanks for your shared love of great old treasures and be blessed!
