Religious fine art, illustrations and gifts

Dripping Springs, Texas

Announcement    Welcome to our studio shop!
If we could give you a hug for dropping by we would. Our inspirational art prints, cards and devotional objects portraying Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the saints are made right here in the foothills of central Texas.
---
During this season of COVID-19, we continue to look inward and upward for insights and inspiration. We are hard at work creating images which hopefully will help us and our viewers to focus our thoughts and trust on God.
---
Our newest painting, Prodigal Father, is now available as a giclée print. We offer new works as giclées because they can be produced in small runs. Once we've completed two or three new images and are ready to offer larger quantities we will have digital prints produced. Currently in the studio Margaret is working on a new painting representing Jesus' Proclamation of the Kingdom.

Our Story

We are a tiny art and design studio in the hill country of Central Texas, near the community of Dripping Springs.

Holy Family of the Springs produces original artwork in watercolor, chalk pastel and other traditional media. We are a team of two. My husband David creates beautiful hardwood forms for some of our locally available art pieces. I am a painter and illustrator with over two decades of experience creating fine art, portraits, and concept art.

A few years ago I was struck by the realization that the commercial art pieces I was creating for marketing purposes and for video games would eventually be discarded or become obsolete. In addition, they were not images which were "from my heart". For a number of years I had been discerning an increasingly insistent call to create art which expresses my Christian faith. With David's support and encouragement I made a right angle turn in my art career, and began Holy Family of the Springs studio, a project devoted to creation of art pieces representing sacred subjects, primarily events from the lives of Jesus and Mary. The works we create are the wellspring of this call to evangelize using images.

In his letter to artists Saint John Paul II challenged us: "The close alliance that has always existed between the Gospel and art means that you are invited to use your creative intuition to enter into the heart of the mystery of the Incarnate God and at the same time into the mystery of man."

For thousands of years religious art has been created to inspire, to communicate and to teach. Our work aims to continue that tradition.
