Announcement    I am one of the little people on Etsy. My brand name means what it says - everything listed as handmade in this shop (non-vintage) is 100% handmade by me. I invent the product, create it, package it, and ship it without the assistance of friends, employees, manufacturers, or a storage and shipping service.

I began making candles as a hobby in 2003 and soon after had people requesting to purchase them as gifts. Over time I began selling them at various locally owned stores in Santa Barbara and later expanded my product line and launched this website. I began making art with playing cards and other gaming memorabilia in 2017 and started offering it to the public in 2019 with my Game of Love series.

I currently work full-time as a server (part-time at two restaurants) and spend the majority of my free time working on my art. Sometimes I write poker themed essays for www.rachelhoyt.com and/or post my poetry at www.rhymemeasmile.blogspot.com.

My pillar candles are made with paraffin wax, high quality fragrance oils, and hand mixed dyes that lend to unique color combinations. They burn evenly and slowly thanks to their 100% cotton wicks which have no additives (no lead wire core), ensuring a safe, non-toxic sense-ational experience.

My jar candles are made from containers donated by friends, purchased at thrift stores, collected for upcycling after personal use, or purchased in bulk for past and present wholesale clients. Each jar is filled with 100% soy wax, dyed and scented with high quality fragrance oil.

About

Idea Factory

I love to pound out ideas on my keyboard while a pot of wax warms on the stove or subdue the tension of writers block by crocheting something beautiful or scraping labels off jars for my recycled container candle line. The books, craft supplies, and projects in progress which clutter my apartment (most of the time) prove just how much I indulge my creative desires. I've got more ideas than I could manufacture in a lifetime... but I try to pursue all the best ones.

If interested, you may read my short stories at RachelHoyt.com or my poetry at RhymeMeASmile.blogspot.com.
