Soy wax is water soluble unlike paraffin. It’s easy to clean up. Don’t dump the wax in your sink as it may clog your pipes. After the life of your candle, put the candle in the freezer until the remaining ¼ “ layer remaining hardens and is brittle enough to pop our. Wash out with hot soapy water and you now have a perfectly good glass container. The same can be done for the tins and they are also 100% recyclable.

It's very difficult to remove paraffin wax from furniture or textiles. Soy wax spills can easily be cleaned up with hot soapy water.

The incorporation of soybean oil lowers the melting point of the candle, which translates into cooler burning candles and faster scent dispersion. The lower melting point of soy wax results in a larger wax pool around the candle wick. The wax pool is what releases the scent into the air. This also means that a 4 inch diameter candle will scent a larger room than a 2 inch diameter candle.

Paraffin wax is a by-product of petroleum. According to the EPA, paraffin wax when lit, may release potentially harmful pollutants and carcinogens. Burning a paraffin candle also produces a significant amount of soot that you may notice on your walls and furniture if you frequently burn paraffin candles. Several studies suggest even more health risks from burning paraffin wax, especially to people suffering from asthma or other respiratory illnesses.

Soy wax is made from soy beans which are a renewable resource grown in the United States. Soy wax burns much cleaner and does not produce the toxins that paraffin emits. Soy wax is biodegradable.

Beware - Not all soy candles out there are made with 100% soy wax. A candle company may claim their candles are made from soy but may only have a small percentage of soy wax blended with paraffin... ALL of our Candles are made using 100% certified organic soy bean wax.

Soy candles have a memory! When you light your soy candle for the first time, it is important to remember that it has a memory. Therefore it is very important to burn your soy candle until the soy wax melts to the edges of the container (usually 1 hour for each inch of its diameter). This process is called getting a “full melt pool“. For example: a soy candle 3″ in diameter should be burned for three hours to establish its memory. This allows your soy candle to get its full melt pool which will increase the scent throw of the soy candle. If a soy candle isn’t given a proper memory burn, especially on the first burn, it will cause your soy candle to burn in a tunnel down the center and you will not get a good scent throw from the candle.
