Awesome calendar! I love that the boy colors are different from the typical shades of blue. Great communication and Kristen went out of her way to quickly get this to me.
seeking to inspire & be inspired.
part one (2009-2012):
My husband and I got engaged near the end of our time as undergraduate students, and decided to put a lot of effort into handmade details for our wedding (including my dress, our "flowers" and...our invitations). While finishing a degree in fashion design but not being convinced it was where I should be, I began to explore elements of graphic design & found I really enjoyed it. Our wedding invites were, to my surprise, the most exciting thing for me to create! I decided I wanted to spread this love for designing custom wedding invitations & began pursuing it full-time once graduated.
part two (2012-2013):
While pursuing the "custom wedding invitation" designer dream, I realized I didn't have the energy (or resources) that made this feasible at the end of the day. Meanwhile, I noticed that throughout the early stages of "homeseed" the 'baby's first year calendars' I had created were slowly but consistently selling. I had previously decided I strongly disliked the handmade/production side of these calendars, but kept going forward with creating them. Through time I developed a love for packaging, after putting lots of love/hours into these items & this inspired a desire to grow this part of my business (& a decision to cut back on the custom focus). My Etsy shop was born & began to grow with new goods!
part three (2013-now!):
While truly enjoying designing, creating, prepping & packaging paper goods in my shop, I have come to a place where I realize the best decision for myself and this shop, is that it not be a 'round the clock gig. I now have a full-time "day job" & "homeseed" has returned to a place where I am excited & motivated to spend time on evenings/weekends. I will grow this shop & devote myself to it as I am able. Through it I will continue to seek to be inspired & inspire others.
Thank you for your love & support!!
Beautiful things inspire me & I hope to in turn be a part of creating & inspiring them. With a background in fashion design & a love for laughter, creatures, love, color (& so much more) I present to you: homeseed.
