3 out of 5 starsI love the item I received but it took over a month for me to receive. I contacted the shop twice and she was quick to respond. Life and work delayed the shipment of my item. Good quality and adorable but definitely order in advance.

About HomespunWhit
Just a small town girl...
When I was little, my mom sewed everything for me and my sister and brother. I didn't ever think about the time it took for her to make my clothes, and although I briefly attempted to learn to sew in middle school, I quickly moved on to other interests. In college my mom bought me a second hand sewing machine, but I didn't really have the time or interest to learn to sew. After getting married and having three boys, I met a really sweet Home Ec teacher when our boys played t-ball together. She needed to get rid of a hand me down sewing machine, and offered it to me. It didn't come with a cord or pedal, and it took me about 9 months to finally get around to buying one online. From the first stitch, I was hooked! I started to slowly teach myself how to sew, thanks to the internet, YouTube videos, and awesome blogging tutorials.
That was only about six months ago, and not long into my sewing journey I knew I wanted to do more with my hobby. I started slowly selling to a few friends and family members and rented some space in a local brick and mortar store (like Etsy in real life!) After some encouragment from the shop owner and another seller, I opened up my Etsy shop in October. I've only been open a few months and already have some new ideas and great fabrics to try out...if only I had the time! My three boys and husband keep me pretty busy, but I hope to find the balance soon between my daytime job, family life, and my Etsy shop.
I'm an educator by day, and I sometimes sew long into the night. Although my current job is year round, I hope to find a teaching job that will free up my summers so I can work on creating during my time off. I don't think this will ever be a career, but a girl can dream, right?

Additional policies and FAQs
Many of my fabrics are one of a kind. I may only have enough material to make one or two items, but I would be happy to find material that will coordinate.
I love to make custom dresses! If you find a particular fabric you would like me to use, please let me know!
