Welcome to Honey Girl Design. All my jewelry is designed and handcrafted by me, and I specialize in making beaded and wire jewelry with antique charms and beads.

I am from Japan. I have been in America for 12 years and I live in the Washington, D.C. area. I have a wonderful husband who is in the Military and is a very creative photographer. Together, we have two spirited little boys. Because of my husband's job, we move a lot. I wanted to find something that I really love and I can do anywhere I go. I discovered jewelry making four years ago, and started making jewelry as gifts for family and friends. The incredible feedback I got from each piece encouraged me to start making them to sell, but the timing was never right to start.

But I was motivated to start an Etsy account after Japan got hit by the huge earthquake and tunami and many homes and lives were lost. It hurt me so much to listen to all the sad and devastating news. While looking for ways to help from so far away, a friend told me she sold a charity necklace for Japan at her Etsy shop and donated 100% of the proceeds to the Red Cross. I started making bracelets to sell at her shop and donate the proceeds as well.

Together, we made nearly $600 in donation in three weeks.

It felt good to help Japan, and I remembered how much I love making jewelry. I was encouraged by many people who bought my bracelets, and told me they loved them, and I was inspired by my friend to start my own shop, Honey Girl Design.

I will continue making the Japan relief bracelets and necklaces, and am working on new designs as well to put on my shop.

I rarely make same design twice, so each piece is unique.

I hope you find the "jewelry just for you" here at Honey Girl Design.
