Honey Moon Muse Vintage

It’s empowering to know that there are like-minded individuals out there in internet land who appreciate our offbeat sense of fashion. A tribe that revels in psychedelic dresses, high waisted mom jeans, Versace style bomber jackets, and goth platform boots. Cool cats who get the meaning of “personal style” and “subculture” and “history” and hold it above all else when it comes to their wardrobes (ESPECIALLY above big box giants).

We are kin.

Our goal is to make every item's history a part of YOUR next story. We cannot advocate an industry that thrusts out more unnecessary products into the world because we've seen firsthand how much clothing goes into the landfill at the end of the day. We are sabotaging the environment in pursuit of the “next new thing" one $10 polyester top at a time. Because you see, there is nothing wrong with “this old thing”. Fashion is of great relevance considering what you wear on your back tells the world a whole lot about what values you stand for.

We’re straight up recycling, collectively.

I have faith that you get that same squeal of delight when you open up your parcel that I did when I first spotted your lovely treasure lurking in the depths of some dusty forgotten thrift store basement and said to myself, “Now THIS is cool. My customers would slay for this”. Because one girl’s trash is another girl’s silk caftan. Perfect for Coachella.

It’s win-win when you buy vintage.

So click on dear fashion mavericks. Together we can lead vintage-filled lives on opposite ends of the globe. Because I want to work a color palette as good as my 84 year old Grandma does, who rocks 5 necklaces at once, and passes on groovy jumpsuits to me, the weird one.

We have been in the Etsy biz for 7 years and have amassed over 7,000 sales to date and a 100% positive feedback rating. Items from our shop have been featured in Flare Magazine, Molly Makes Magazine, V&OAK Magazine (Vintage & One-of-a-kind), and "The 100 Best Vintage Online Shops" E-book by Sammy Davis. We have sold vintage pieces to celebrities, bloggers and stylists around the world. More press here: www.honeymoonmuse.com/press/

Hey, I'm guessing you're into one or more of the following: Minimalist-pop-art-mod. Goth-raver-disco. Festival-hippie-gypsy. Biker-babe-grunge. Seapunk-cyber-club kid. Steampunk-victorian-pirate. Country-prairie-princess. Let's not point any fingers, but so are we.

Recycling is cool. Not only are you buying a piece of fashion history but you're investing your cashola on items that will last longer that it's fast fashion equivalent, all while supporting a woman-owned small business.

Returning customers get a coupon for 15% off future visits. Neat, eh?

We ship by Canada Post and USPS air mail. Both have reliable delivery. Shipping will take 10 days max if you reside in Canada or USA, guaranteed. Get it sooner, throw it on your back sooner, flaunt it sooner.

We have one of the most extensive shops on Etsy for vintage clothing, and we're dedicated to the top quality stuff of your fashion dreams, not just passé retro leftovers. You can search our store by size, style, era, color, fabric and more. If there's something you can't find, send us a message, and we'll be on the lookout!

We are committed to sourcing the coolest stock that reflect modern fashion trends. We are constantly working on finding better ways to serve you. Therefore we update our social media posse every day on our latest stock and vintage fashion inspiration.

Shop owner Marriki has a degree in Fashion Design & Technology. She has designed from scratch everything from childrenswear to mens jeans to swimwear to winter coats. This means she knows the "fashion science" as to how clothing is made, from inception to final product, which colors go together, what cuts look best on your bod and why the fast fashion industry is sadly slowly ruining our planet. But mostly she just love fashion, and more importantly, the history behind it, which is why we're here (yay!).

Oy vey, the Internet. Etsy's grown into such a large marketplace, not everyone is thorough. Like, "When will this ship, if ever?" or "Will this actually fit or be two sizes smaller than described?". We've answered literally a million questions for you already, which you can peruse at your leisure below.

Please do not message us with offers - we don't negotiate our prices. We will not mark down items we have just added, only out of season or older stock (see sale section). We are an experienced and professional shop that takes great care to choose only high quality vintage items. We do thorough research on pricing, and put in an extensive amount of time and effort into photography, sourcing, mending, shipping, marketing, customer service and more all while balancing monthly business expenses. It's a lot of work. For this reason the shop has a no haggle policy. Keep in mind that I am not a huge online retailer. This is not fast fashion. Like most small businesses, we strive really hard to grow. This is why we love the Etsy community! Most sellers are doing the same thing here, hopefully you can support that vision. To put it simply: we wouldn't ask you to do your job for half the amount of pay, so we ask you, please don't do this to shops on Etsy. We do have a super awesome on-going promotions you can read in the section above.
♥ We are based in British Columbia, Canada.

Orders ship by Canada Post. Tracking may be included. Please allow 1 - 3 weeks for delivery from the time you receive a confirmation shipping email from us.

In rare instances, overseas shipping can take take longer during the holidays or if customs delays your parcel. Do not be worried if it takes a while, parcels show up 99.9% of the time! If your parcel is late most often one of the following has happened. Please check the list below, and if you're still concerned about the timing, let us know.

♥ It is being held at customs. This happens around 15% of the time with International orders, depending on your country. Customs can hold your parcel for a week, up to a month or longer. We have no control over countries holds and thus cannot be held responsible for such delays. We have shipped overseas orders to far away countries by air mail and parcels have arrived in 4 days, or taken up to 8 weeks. Once it leaves us it's in the hands of the postal system.

♥ If you weren't home at time of delivery, and your parcel does not fit in the mailbox, then it has been sent to your local post office. Please check with them.

♥ If your address was incorrect, parcels will be re-routed back to us. Please double check the address you give us on Etsy, it is the one we go by (not Paypal). If the postal code is off or your name isn't listed, your parcel will be shipped back and then it is your responsibility to pay to have it shipped a second time.

♥ On rare occasions, postal workers have delivered parcels to neighbors by mistake (especially if you live in an apartment building), or packages have been stolen. It's happened, please keep this in mind.

Please note we keep all receipts as proof of mailing and will not be held responsible for late or missing packages. We are happy to add insurance and tracking to your package for an additional fee prior to shipping out.

Customers are responsible for paying any customs fees and taxes that may be assessed by their country's customs office upon item delivery. Please be aware customs fees are not associated with the seller, Etsy, or the shipping price of the item. In our experience less than 10% of International orders (outside of US and Canada) get charged these duties.

Shipping is pre-calculated. Rates widely vary by an item’s weight, size and destination. Shipping rates reflect Paypal fees, as well as the low cost of shipping supplies and packaging. We do not make money off shipping like other online sellers. If we have overestimated shipping you will be refunded any overcharges in excess of $5.

♥ All orders are shipped by the address listed on your Etsy invoice. Please send a message ASAP if this address needs to be updated.
♥ On weeks that we travel for buying, items are shipped upon return.
♥ We will not mark a shipment as being of a lesser value for customs or as a gift as that would be illegal.
♥ All orders $799 USD and up will ship with Canada Post. Tracking and insurance included.

Additional policies and FAQs
When shopping for vintage clothing online it's best to follow the actual garment measurements listed rather than rely on a size tag as clothing has changed from decade to decade and sizing differs from brand to brand. Vintage sizes may run smaller than modern sizing. "Estimated fit" is just an estimate. We often pin parts back for photos as our main model is a modern US size 4, 31 - 25 - 34, 5'3.

The BEST way to figure out if something will fit is to compare measurements to a similar garment of your own. We recommend selecting a similar garment in your closet; place it on a flat surface and measure straight across from seam to seam with a dressmaker's tape. Or you can measure your own body, but generally it's best to judge sizing if you have a similar style available. Same goes for shoes. If you still have more questions, contact us and we will gladly take additional measurements.

• All measurements are taken in inches with the garment lying flat, pulled comfortably tight from seam to seam.
• For bust, waist and hip please double to get circumference.
• If an item is stretchy, we give a measurement range, from flat to the garment comfortably stretched.
• When a measurement is listed as “free”, it means that the garment is roomy and will fit a range of sizes.

Length: The back of the neck to bottom of hem.
Chest or Bust: Armpit to armpit.
Waist: Sideseam to sideseam at the waist.
Hip: Sideseam to sideseam at the hip.
Sleeve Length: Shoulder point to cuff.
Shoulders: Shoulder seam to shoulder seam.

Approximate modern sizes when we say "Estimated fit":

Bust: 32" | Waist: 24" | Hip: 34"

Bust: 34" | Waist: 26" | Hip: 36"

Bust: 36" | Waist: 28" | Hip: 38"

Bust: 38"| Waist: 30" to 32" | Hip: 38" to 40"

Bust: 40" + | Waist: 34" + | Hip: 42" +

Vintage means items are previously used, and over 20 years old. When shopping with us keep in mind that the majority of items are vintage, unless noted that they are handmade. Normal wear and minor flaws can be expected, such as loose threads, slight fading and other signs of age that do not affect wearability. Garments may have characteristics of a particular age and era. Sometimes eras are estimates as some items cannot be pin-pointed down so narrowly, and in those cases we use our best judgement to date it.

We hand-pick all of our items for quality assurance to make sure you are receiving high quality goods. Each vintage piece is inspected 3 - 5 times before it arrives at your doorstep. The majority of items in our shop are Mint - Excellent condition! We are as honest as can be when it comes to describing an item's condition (see 100% positive feedback).

Here's a great article on vintage for those who are new to buying: http://www.ebay.com/gds/10-Questions-About-Vintage-Every-Thrifter-Should-Ask-/10000000204196102/g.html

NOS: New Old Stock - found with original tags. Sometimes also referred to as deadstock or NWT (new with tags). Rare.
MINT: Perfect condition. Looks unworn with no flaws to note. Also Rare.
EXCELLENT: An item shows normal signs of gentle wear. May have a few minor imperfections (small scratch, thread pull, small spot, etc.) which will not compromise the overall style. Any flaws are considered minor and not easily visible when wearing. No structural damage or repair needed. Typical condition for most vintage items in our shop, or most vintage shops for that matter.
VERY GOOD: An item is wearable and desirable but shows signs it's been well loved. May show surface flaws (such as light stains, or pilling) . Or may show minor structural damage that could be remedied by easy repair (such as a small hole, missing button, or ripped lining). Sold as-is. Flaws will be noted in photos and descriptions. Condition reflected in price.
GOOD : Several flaws, most likely structural. Repairable or already repaired in some parts. Wearable with care, may be fragile. Flaws noted in photos and descriptions. Sold as-is. Price heavily reduced.

We do our best to professionally sew/mend any flaws and a mild cleaning treatment is given to items with stains, smellier items, and all leather goods. The majority of our clothing has been steam cleaned with a standard garment steamer. Please note that in the interest of not compromising the condition of our garments we do not launder them, therefore it is up to the customer if they choose to for hygienic reasons.

This is vintage, therefore we only have one of each item to sell. Most vintage pieces are rare finds that you won't come across again and once something is sold, chances are it’s gone for good. Simply put: If you love it, buy it. Generally we don't have more than one unless in the rare instance it's deadstock (new vintage, found with tags, sometimes found in batches).

All colors are represented as best as we can. Honey Moon Muse cannot guarantee that the colors represented or shown on the website exactly matches the actual product as computer monitors vary. Coloration issues aren't grounds for returns for this reason.

We invest a considerable amount of both time having our items photographed professionally from all angles so that you can see the complete garment. As such the photos in the listing are the only photos that we will be able to provide. We do make an exception in the case of items over $75, we will most likely be able to get you more photos. All content ©2009 - 2016 Honey Moon Muse Vintage. Please ask if you're going to use a photo of mine somewhere else online.

We like to keep our customers in the loop. When you place an order with us you may receive a newsletter regarding new arrivals and sales events (only 1-2 emails a month). If you wish to unsubscribe from this list, you can opt out of at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.

Most items on Etsy are for sale in our brick and mortar store, Gemini Rising Vintage. We do pull sold items from the shop once daily. Items are in stock unless noted otherwise. In the case and item is out of stock and not listed, we will return the charge and send email notification asap.

Wholesale opportunities are welcome! We have experience selling vintage to shops in Los Angeles, San Fransisco, Philadelphia, Australia, China & Taiwan. Discounts go by volume. Please contact us if you are interested.

Contact us if you have further questions not described above, we are friendly & professional! We try to be as accommodating as possible. We will respond to messages within 48 hours but often within a few hours.
