Important: Please keep in mind that our salvaged rustic wood comes from various sources, it isn't always the exact color shown in the listing. All rustic wood can vary in color, knots, holes, etc. Our painted and stained pieces are made from knotty pine wood unless otherwise noted and all painted colors come distressed. Rustic Old Wood is not stained, but natural wood that is sealed with a clear matte coat.

NOTE: Rustic Reddish Wood is not as distressed or rustic as our Rustic Old Wood. Rustic Old Wood and Rustic Reddish Wood: color, grain, knots, (small or large) sized holes can vary in all wood types.

Our table tops do come sealed. If you want something to have a glossy finish, such as a breadbox, you must convey that to us, otherwise, the painted furniture and painted shelving will have a satin or semi raw natural wood type finish, not glossy. Also, the natural wood shelves and stained items have a sealant that is in the finish and is matte or flat to keep with the rustic look.

Lisa paints landscapes and animals in oil. See all original art under our sections.

I did a lot of research before I purchased because I wanted a well made quality mantel and wanted it to be worth the money invested. Even though the description states: "If you choose Rustic Wood, please remember that we cannot control the knots, grain, cracks, holes, etc., that are in the wood." I never expected a knot as big as the one in my mantel. The explantion I received was "Your knot hole is not going to show once you hang it on the wall." Well, it will because it isn't going to be hung low. I was also informed once order was received it would take 1 -2 weeks in house before shipping, I ordered on July 30 and they didn't ship for almost 3 weeks. Would I recommend "NO" If you want to see and actual photo before purchasing, contact me...you will be happy you did!

When you purchase something made from reclaimed wood boards, these things are to be expected. We cannot control knots, holes, grain, color, etc., etc., as stated in our shop; Note: Rustic Old Wood and Rustic Reddish Wood: color, grain, knots, (small or large) sized holes can vary in all wood types. Why is it that some people love and prefer the rustic qualities in the rustic old wood and others do not but choose to order things made from Rustic Old Wood anyway? I will never understand this. If you do not want to take the chance that something might have more character than you wish, please do not choose Rustic Wood. Even in knotty pine wood, sometimes there are variations. That is one thing the majority of our customers understand and love about us.

About

Woodworking and Original Paintings - It's our love story.

How did Honey's Treasures start? It begins with me asking Michael to make something I need or want and it almost always would turn into a little business venture for us. Example; We were hiking at Salt Point State Park and spotted a Blue Heron. I said, "Oh, Honey, will you carve one of those for our backyard?" Next thing you know, we've got all these people that want one for their garden and it kind of just snowballed from there. We were even selling them by the side of the road like a couple of gypsies and we had a ball!

I have to tell you, every time I ask Michael to make something new, he laughs. He says, "Lisa, you think I can make anything." I tell you it's true, he can! Now I'm making things and helping him, too. And...we both love working side by side together on projects and are having more fun than we ever dreamed possible working from home!

Lisa: I'm a self taught oil painter. Art runs through my veins. My mother was a very talented artist as well as my aunt, my dad's sister. Actually many people on both sides of my family were artists and it comes natural for me. My son, Seth, is also very talented naturally.

Michael has recently decided that he wants to be a painter as well. He paints in acrylics.

Our son, Seth, joined our shop to sell his paintings. He helps us in the shop from time to time, too.

We live and work out of our home garage in Fairfield, CA, where we are close to the places we love: The California coast and the city of San Francisco. Painting plein air, camping, hiking and bike riding are some of the things we enjoy doing.

Hi, I'm Seth. Michael and Lisa are my parents and invited me to join their shop and to paint plein air with them. I draw, paint and weld and work with wood. When I paint I drink lots of coffee. I like scotch, too.
