Shop policies

Hoof and Horns was started to help share interesting and unusual metaphysical and magical goods and supplies with other magic users around the world. We live in a very wild, rich area of the Blue Ridge Mountains and wanted to share some of the plants and stones that are naturally found in this area.

We are also both very dedicated spiritual practitioners, so we decided to offer specific services as well at a low cost. Many online magical services come at a high cost and with low quality service, so our services are offered as an alternative to copy and paste psychic readings and bland, uninspired spell work.

Almost all of our items are unique and one of a kind - this means that they may have small flaws and cannot be reproduced exactly. Keep in mind that we use bones, fur, and other natural materials that may be aged or discolored in a natural way. All of our items are thoroughly cleaned and kept in the best condition possible before sale, but we try to be clear and show any damage or wear on these items in each listing.

Payment
Paypal payments must be received within 48 hours of purchase, or the item will be relisted. You are welcome to repurchase the item again, but it will not be held for you after relisting unless you contact us to do so.

Only Postal money orders are accepted, and they must be mailed within 48 hours with Delivery Confirmation service from the Post Office. Please email us within 24 hours of your purchase if you intend to pay this way, or we may relist the item thinking you are not intending to pay.

Trades and other forms of payment must be worked out before a purchase is made. Please contact us if you are interested in trading items of equivalent value or if you have an alternate payment method in mind.
Shipping
Items delivered through the mail will be shipped within 3 days of receiving a cleared payment. This means a completed Paypal transaction or a cashed money order.

Small items (with a shipping charge of $5 or less) are shipped United States Postal Service First Class with Delivery Confirmation. Fragile items are shipped in a padded mailer, while hard, flat, or very small items are shipped in a manilla envelope. Occasionally we will use recycled shipping materials to create a special mailer that protects a unique item. Please don't be offended if you receive a package that uses cardboard from a cereal box or crumpled newspaper to protect your item - we feel that purchasing expensive new materials in these cases is wasteful, and that clean recycled materials is a better choice.

Large items are shipping in cardboard boxes from a variety of sources. Items with shipping costs over $5 are generally shipping Priority Mail, although very large or very heavy items may be shipped Parcel Post to lower shipping costs for the customer.

Items that are shipped internationally are sent via First Class International, which can be upgraded to Priority International by prior request. International shipping is available on some items, but not all. International customs regulations prevents the import of many animal and plant materials, including the bones, feathers, seeds, and dried plants that most of our items contain. If an item you are interested in does not have international shipping listed as available, please contact us with your information about your location so we can determine if the item would pass custom laws for your area.

Additional insurance, certificates of mailing, and upgrades to UPS or other courier services are also available by request. Please contact us before purchasing an item to set up these options.

If you are concerned about receiving an item by a specific deadline or holiday, please contact us about upgrading the shipping on the item before purchasing. This will also help us get your purchase packaged and shipped as quickly as possible as well.
Refunds and Exchanges
Hoof and Horns does not accept refunds or exchanges unless the item was damaged or broken during shipping. If the item is broken during shipping, you must provide photographic proof as soon as you receive it. We will refund the item's price if proper proof is offered, but we will keep the shipping charges unless the damage was obviously caused by improper packaging on our part.

We do recommend that purchases of a significant cost are insured. Insurance can be added to a purchase for under a dollar in most cases, and will covered accidental damage during the shipping process.

If you are unhappy with an item, you may return it within 3 days of receiving it if it remains in top condition. You must contact us via email first to discuss the return. The item must be packaged securely, and you will cover return shipping costs. When we receive the item and check that it is in one piece, we'll issue a full refund of both the item's original price and shipping charges. If the item is damaged during shipping due to a failure on your part to securely package it, we will only issue a partial refund. Used items cannot be returned for a full refund, but if it is a cause of an allergy or incapability, we may be able to offer a partial refund or exchange if we can create a more compatible product for you.
Additional policies and FAQs
Hoof and Horns reserves the request to refuse service to any customer, as per the Etsy Dos and Don'ts. If we feel we are not capable of providing you with the service you deserve, we will make an immediate and full refund and cancel the transaction.
