About

From Hobby to Hope

I started crocheting as a child, when I was trying to immulate my mother. She could make that crochet hook fly and made such beautiful doilies, shawls and afghans. My attempts were not so grand and I lay down my hook. Years later, I picked it back up and started creating. It was slow and sloppy at first, but has become what you see today. I started making hats for my family and friends. Then I started selling a few to people who had seen my work. I was hooked (pun intended).

I found Etsy online and something just clicked....I can do this! I had secretly wanted a shop of my own and I wanted to call it "HoosierMamma". I just thought it was funny so bang, the name was picked (I had to add a 1 because an abandoned shop had the name, HoosierMamma). That was in 2011. Because I had a full time job, things were VERY slow going, but I kept at it and now I have over 100 items. I have read and studied and worked on photos and now have a pleasing shop. It will always be a work in progress but it does make me smile. My hope is to someday, hopefully soon, I will be able to leave my Day Job as a receptionist and become a full-time shop owner and crafter. The hope and belief grow stronger with each sale and it gives me incentive to work harder.

I love my shop, I love my yarn and I love life. Hope and Faith keep me going and I hope and have faith that it shows in my work. Enjoy what I have to offer and feel free to contact me. Happiness loves company.
