My shop is a reflection of my loves, my life experiences, and my spirit.

I'm a retired Realtor, jewelry maker, mother of three, grandmother of nine, great grandmother of three, and wife of my best friend and soulmate. When we retired, we bought our "forever home" in Central Florida to be near our children, grands, and greats.

I often say I'd rather make a friend than a sale and I'm not kidding. This is a boutique shop where you will find personal, individual attention.

So, how has my shop evolved over the past decade on Etsy? How do I select my images? What is my inspiration?

(1) I love working in my little garden and almost all of the flowers you see in my images are flowers I have grown and then captured as images for my jewelry.

(2) I've been a bird lover since my dad gave me my first "Golden Book of Birds" when I was a little girl. If you stay in my shop for more than five minutes, you will detect my love of birds!

(3) The day we lost our granddaughter to Cystic Fibrosis (at age 22 after a full lung transplant at age 19), the memorial part of my shop was born. I find that wearing a piece of jewelry with her image keeps her close and gives me comfort. Apparently, I'm not the only one...

(4) A few years ago, we lost the greyhound who started our twenty-year greyhound adoption journey. Her loss inspired me to make a pendant with her image to keep her close to my heart. That pendant has grown into a very large part of my shop. The stories and the love I hear almost every day inspire me. My customers tell me over and over how priceless the pieces are to those of us who hold our beloved pets in a very special part of our hearts, even when they're gone from our everyday lives.

(5) The wedding pieces came at the request of several previous jewelry customers a couple of months apart. They knew what they wanted but they couldn't find it so they asked if I could help. I could ... and I did ... and after a few years, weddings have become the biggest part of my work.

And, finally (6) The graduation Tassel Charms evolved exactly as the wedding pieces did ... at the request of a previous customer who wanted something special with "the Madeline touch." And so, the Tassel Charms became another very big element of Horizon Cottage. The stories that come with these orders are heartbreaking, heartwarming, and bittersweet ...a joyous day with a hole in it. I try to fill the hole as best I can.

Some days, my shop feels more like a mission than a job. I love every second of it and I hope my work gives some comfort to those who need it.

I combine shipping on multiple items. To receive the combined shipping, simply put all of your items into your cart before checking out. But don't worry, if you accidentally check out and end up paying too much shipping, I will refund the excess immediately. I also extend free shipping on orders over $35.

I've included expedited shipping options to all of my items - you will see your options at checkout. I automatically put a RUSH on all orders which include expedited shipping as well as items going to Canada, the UK, and Ireland.

I will ship your item to your registered Etsy address, so please be sure that your address is up to date. I ship from my home in Florida six days a week so you may expect your item very quickly.

How do I create a digital image?

If your image is not already in digital form, you can easily create a digital image by simply photographing the image with your phone's camera. Use good light and try to avoid shadows or glares. Dust the photo before you photograph it because dust appears as bright white spots on the image.

You can also make a scanned image using a printer that has a scanner function. These make the best images.

Send me the highest resolution you have available and please don't crop your image. The best image for my purposes will not be cropped - I can remove any people you don't want in the frame. I need room to work around the edges of the main subject in order to crop the shape of your piece.

How do I send my image to you?

Attach your image to an Etsy Message: To attach an image to an Etsy Message using a PC: click the "attach image" button you'll see in the text window. If you are on a mobile device, you will see a little camera icon below the text window. If you don't see the camera icon, send me an Etsy Message and ask for my little graphic showing what the different icons look like on different devices.

What is an "Etsy Message" and how do I send you one?

In case you’re not familiar with the Etsy Messaging system, log into your Etsy account and then go to “YOU” at the top of any Etsy page. Click the arrow and select "conversations." I try to keep all communication on the Etsy site (rather than using emails) because I receive a little audio tone the instant someone sends an Etsy Message so I can respond quickly. I don’t receive a tone for email and I worry that I might miss your message in the deluge of email I receive every day. In a few hours, your email message could be pushed to Page 2 of my email Inbox. How often do you scroll to Page 2 of your email? Me either!

Will my item be three-dimensional?

No, any three-dimensional effect is photographic. The dome is crystal clear glass set over a printed image.

Your item(s) will be shipped First Class, via US Mail. I ship from my home in Florida six days a week so you can expect your order quickly. For EXPEDITED SHIPPING, select Priority or Priority Express in the shipping options during checkout.

SHIPPING: How quickly do you process and ship custom orders?

I generally ship sooner than the shipping date shown on your order. If you need your item even more quickly than that, let me know in an Etsy Message. I can ship as soon as the next day after your order for rush orders. I will assume your order is a rush if you order Priority or Priority Express shipping. I highly recommend upgrading to Priority shipping if you are ordering within a few weeks of your event. First Class shipping has become unreliable in the last two years but, so far, all of my Priority shipments have arrived on time.


Each pendant comes with a matching 24" chain. I will be happy to make the chain a different length if you wish - just add a note with your purchase or send me a convo after.
