Why should cute be just for kids?

Every time I walk by the kids section, I start coveting all the bright colors and sequins and cute graphics.

I've always been overweight and tall so as a kid I used to walk past the bright and fun kids clothing, past the hip junior miss section, and on into the muted, forbidding women's sections of the 90s. As I got older and yes chubbier, I had to pass even the women's section and try to find what I could in the burlap sacks reserved for anyone over a size 14. By 16 years old, I had accepted that fashion was just not going to be made for me and resigned myself to a life of cargo pants and black t-shirts with funny sayings on them.

Then something happened. Torrid opened and started selling cute clothes to fat girls. I bought a bright green dress and then I needed to have EVERY OTHER COLOR. I found, though, that Torrid couldn't be counted on to consistently have clothes in my style and there still weren't many places that carried anything even close to what I wanted to wear. So I started making my own clothes. Horribly Adorable started when I realized that my talent was simplicity. Now that I've clothed myself, I want to spread the joy of color to everyone, regardless of age or size.

I've always had my own unique style that just isn't sold in stores. I used to ask my mom make me clothes that felt more like me. When I moved out on my own, I realized I could make the clothes I was always designing by myself and then the world was mine.

Shop policies

Last updated on November 6, 2012
Welcome to the policies! Before you get to all the forbidding shipping and payment raucous that I'm obligated to put in, I just want to first say that EVERYTHING I MAKE IS CUSTOM. I absolutely love bringing people's ideas to life to the best of my ability so if you want it, send me a message and I'll tell you if I can make it. I'm usually by my phone so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. I will always respond to your inquiries.

Secondly, I'm a creator by nature and not really a businesswoman so nothing in my shop is priced arbitrarily. If you've shopped around at any custom stores, you know that the prices are always a bit high and for good reason. You're asking for something that doesn't exist on the market, usually from someone who is operating alone in their house (and if you aren't asking for something that doesn't exist, you can DEFINITELY get your item cheaper from a mass market organization). You're paying artists for their time, their creativity, and their long hours of hard work. My prices are A LOT cheaper than theirs because I haven't been able to put a price on my ingenuity so I go with the more logical route of the hard goods I buy to make your product. Consider this before you ask for a discount. My price is already at the absolute lowest it can go.

Accepted payment methods

  • Money Order
Returns and exchanges
All of my items are custom made when you order them. There is a date listed in the announcement for when I will be able to start your order. You'll need to tell me before that date if you need a refund as after that I will already have spent your money on materials.
* Payments must be received within 2 days of purchase or I will relist the item and cancel the sale.

* I work on a first bought, first shipped basis. If you talk to me about an item, I can give you the shipping date for that day, but unless you purchase your item that day, the shipping date is subject to change. I will obviously work with you if I possibly can if you need your item by a certain date.

* Sale prices only apply to items bought and paid for before the sale ends. I will usually list a time and date.
I usually use the U.S. Post office. I always get a tracking number, which I will e-mail to you. If you need to have your item shipped faster, I am willing to upgrade it if you're willing to pay for it.
