My Story
BACKGROUND
I have always loved to make items by hand, because I find it very satisfying to see the immediate outcome of my hard work. As a former city planner I created plans and guidelines, but I did not have the opportunity to get hands on and design and build my own projects. An out-of-state move and later lay-off allowed me the opportunity to pursue a different career.
HOTARU JEWELRY
After purchasing a handmade necklace for our ten year anniversary I started on my new path. Hotaru Jewelry was born and I have loved every minute of it since. Hotaru means firefly in Japanese, which is what I called our oldest child while I was pregnant. Our family is of mixed Asian and European heritage.
WHY I LOVE IT
Jewelry design and creation allows me to work with my hands to create something tangible and lasting. It fulfills and satisfies my creative drive, but the best part about it is customer satisfaction. I love hearing back from customers about how much they love what I have created and how much it means to them. I love to make products that appeal to everyone and to create unique one of a kind treasures just for you.
My varied interests and passions are sometimes reflected in my creations. I am socially and environmentally conscious and strive to acquire materials from ethical and environmentally responsible sources. Please keep checking back to see the new items I introduce.
