A little bit about us. We are a team of two, Tom Houha and Patty Mora. We have a home studio on six wooded acres near Portland Oregon. Surrounded by woods and wildlife we are appreciative that our Etsy shop has made it possible for us to work from home, explore our creativity and sell our products all over the world.

Tom is an architect and designer. Tom’s interest in geometry and model building inspired him to design fun little models to be given away as gifts to family and friends. As interest and popularity for his models grew he soon realized there was potential to produce his designs commercially.

Patty is an artist and photographer. She relocated from Austin Texas where she owned a successful photography studio for over ten years. Patty’s art and business skills complimented Tom’s design and technical skills, leading to the formation of Houha Designs. Patty is photographer, graphic designer and manager of the Etsy shop.

About our product: We create and sell model kits both geometric and architectural. We also have 3D laser cut cards. Our products are designed by us and are unique to our shop. After the design phase all parts are intricately and precisely cut by a laser one sheet at a time. We are responsible for every step of production from conception to shipping. We are thrilled to get positive compliments from our customers. It really makes all the hard work worth it.

We work long hours but enjoy the work and are fortunate to have a home studio. We have an unofficial office in Tom’s tiki treehouse (designed and built by Tom, of course) where you might find him from time to time enjoying a tropical beverage and dreaming up new products for Houha Designs.
