About Hounds of the Rock Table:
Hounds of the Rock Table is a mining company in Washington State. Our aim is to provide stunning mineral specimen, gemstone jewelry and other handcrafted goods. We own several mining claims in Washington and focus heavily on environmentally friendly mining practices. Imported gemstones and jewelry often come from countries that have no environmental protection or labor requirements, allowing them to sell items very cheap. While this may seem beneficial to buyers, they may be, unknowingly, supporting unethical business practices. We encourage our customers to consider the true costs of this industry. Thousands of people each year lose their lives in gemstone mines due to inadequate safety. More get sick from working in carving and processing facilities without proper PPE. In many of these countries, people are not paid livable wages for their work. At Hounds of the Rock Table, All of our gemstones are ethically sourced. All of our goods and handmade. Our gemstone materials are either extracted by our own hands, purchased from vintage collections, or sourced from other sellers at a fair-trade price. The true value of our products comes from the satisfaction in knowing that your purchase supports environmental sustainability and human rights. We are grateful for your support!
About the Artist:
My name is A.J. Moya, 35, from Snohomish County, WA. From a young age I always had an interest in both nature and art. Over the years I have worked in many different mediums including pencil, paint, sculpting, carpentry, metallurgy and stone. I love to hike and explore, and derive much of my inspiration from the natural world. My love for nature and passion for working with natural materials led me to study Geoscience at Everett Community College. Further independent research into mineral based free energy, pseudosciences, philosophy and Mysticism eventually brought me to my true calling.
Today I use my understanding of Geoscience in the field of Mineral Exploration, Identification and Extraction. Many of the minerals used in my products are mined by my own hands. Aside from collecting material, I also cut, polish, facet, set, and wire wrap. This means that I am the primary handler of the minerals I use, giving me the ability to endow the materials with the esoteric energies inspired by the original extraction location, as well as establish an intimate connection to the media, which I think stands out in my creations.
