Collars from Nowhere....

Houndstown is a sometimes unwieldy monster. Sometimes online, sometimes on Etsy, and sometimes in person and occasionally on the phone, it is a concept that is tough for even I, the creator, to grasp.
Houndstown started the way so many small ventures begin-from a simple idea of "I can do this...but better...". Twelve years ago a sweet, meek greyhound came into my life. Online collar ordering was simply not meeting the needs of dressing a brindle male pup-it's a surprisingly tough task.
After messing around with fabrics, hardware, and an unruly 30 year old sewing machine (not to mention having to learn to sew from my mother-the owner of said machine...) for a month or so, I had a collar or three that weren't too terribly bad-by my standards at the time, anyway.
Fast forward eleven years. Houndstown is now in it's own facility, and I am the proud (lol) owner of multiple industrial sewing machines, bar tackers, webbing cutters....you name it. I have learned more about industrial manufacturing in the past year than I ever cared to!
As much as I joke about sewing for a living (yes, I STILL do some of the sewing!!), there's nothing else I would rather do.
Etsy has become an integral part of Houndstown, and I believe it will continue to not only offer us an additional outlet for our products, but will move Houndstown in a new direction as we expand our markets and offerings. Etsy has filled a part of our business needs that I never knew existed-and it has quickly become my favored method of bringing our products to our devoted fans and customers.

Returns and exchanges
Our return policy has recently changed. Please take notice of our new policy.

Houndstown now offers a full refund or exchange within 3 days of delivery, minus Etsy fees, and a restocking fee of 50% of the sales price. This covers the cost of an item made specifically for your order, as well as shipping to you. Customer must contact Houndstown via email within 3 days of delivery to facilitate return. All returns must be unused, and in condition to be resold. All shipping fees both ways after the initial purchase are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Houndstown guarantees all collars and leashes against manufacturing defects for the life of the product. While Houndstown warranties all products against defects, we cannot guarantee or warranty against wear and tear. How fast a collar or leash wears depends on its use. If you have a particularly rough and tumble dog, that enjoy spending days out in the sun as opposed to snoozing on the sofa, daily worn collars and associated products are going to wear faster. We highly suggest saving the one of a kind, crystal embellished, night on the town collars for special occasions. No refunds given on custom orders, although we will do everything we can to make you happy with your custom order. Execution of return policy is at the sole discretion of Houndstown.

Payment
Houndstown accepts all major forms of payment. Paypal, check, money order, and direct credit card. Orders are shipped only after full payment has been received and cleared. Cancellations may be made on stocked items any time before shipment. After order is shipped, or on custom items, no cancellations may be made.
Shipping
Houndstown ships all orders USPS, unless otherwise noted or requested. If you need to upgrade to a different carrier for time constraints or location, please contact us and we will work out the details as soon as possible. Please allow 7 business days to ship, however due to conditions beyond our control (large order volume, custom orders, etc), occasionally can take longer.
International orders are shipped USPS International Priority, uninsured. If you wish to add tracking or insurance, this must be noted and added at time of payment. Orders shipped without tracking or insurance are done so at buyers discretion, and delivery can not be guaranteed.

**Please note: Any package that is verified with tracking number as delivered correctly to the address provided to us through Etsy but not received is the responsibility of the purchaser. Due to a number of possibilities, from porch piracy to inaccurate delivery by local carriers, we are unable to replace orders once they are verified delivered. It is an unfortunate position but the weight of providing a safe and secure delivery address and location is the responsibility of the buyer.**

Any order that requires a size (such as a single item being offered in multiple sizes that is chosen by the customer) MUST have the sizing and/or hardware finish noted upon ordering. If not noted, shipping times may be longer. If we do not receive sizing information, we will complete and ship the order with a size MEDIUM product. If this sizing is incorrect, it may be exchanged at customer's shipping expense. If hardware selection is not made, we will ship product with NICKEL hardware. If this is incorrect, it may be exchanged at customer's expense.
