About HuckleberryStew

Sales 491
On Etsy since 2009

Personalized, Customized, Quirky Embroidered Items

Huckleberry Stew creates original embroidered bath towels and aprons, along with a small assortment of other handcrafted items. They specialize on custom, personalized pieces.

Huckleberry Stew is run by Heather Flynn with lots of help from her young family, especially her husband, Steve. The shop was created as both an outlet for their creativity and from Heather & Steve's desire that she could stay home to care for their children. While the shop continues to evolve, the imagination and care for detail remain.

The Flynn family considers themselves quirky, nerdy, silly, and fun. They express that in many of their designs. Their Latter-Day Saint faith offers them the opportunity to create one of a kind items that cater to others looking for religious items, as well.

Heather has been sewing since she was a child. Her instruction began with summer-school classes taught by her mother's friends on how to use a machine, but she has taught herself most of what she knows. In high school she started created custom cosplay costumes for herself and her brothers and friends. In college her focus shifted to home decor. Once she began having children she became much more interested in heirloom sewing with an emphasis on machine embroidery. All of these parts of her life have combined themselves in the items she creates for Huckleberry Stew.

  • Heather Flynn

    Owner, Creator

Nice to meet you, friend! I'm Heather and I'm the owner of Huckleberry Stew. I'm a mother of four tiny humans who keep me busy & keep me crazy. I spend naptime in my sewing room with one or two machines running, and my creativity flowing.

  • Steve Flynn

    Marketer, Shipper

Steve is Heather's husband. It is his job to keep her sane. He also helps out with marketing & development, as well as shipping. He is a substitute teacher when he isn't home with his family.

  • Evelyn

    Assistant

Evelyn is my oldest assistant. It is her job to keep her brother and sisters occupied, to pick out thread colors, and to laugh at my jokes.

  • Mikey

    Assistant

Mikey is next in line. He tells me Star Wars quotes, asks for Ninja Turtle patches on his blue jeans, and sneaks off with my good scissors.

  • Marion Mae

    Assistant

Marion is my most eager helper. She sits on my lap and pushes the buttons on my machines, for better or for worse. She also brings me snacks and steals my shoes.

  • Alice

    Assistant

Alice's job is to cry when it is time for me to quit working. She performs that duty very well and is looking forward to being promoted to chief computer cord chewer.

Orders cannot be returned or refunded unless the item is not as described in the listing or we have made a mistake. In this rare event, your order will be promptly replaced or refunded. Please double check the spelling of any custom embroidery as we cannot offer a refund or an exchange of a customized product if you have made a mistake while ordering. If you ask real nice we might give you a significant discount on a replacement, however.

We accept credit cards through Etsy's processing system or through PayPal.
We also accept Etsy gift cards.
Shipping
Please double check the ship-to address before you order. We cannot honor delivery commitments if you provide the wrong address.

Sometimes a package is marked as delivered but does not make it into the buyer's possession. When the US postal service tells us they have delivered the package to a correctly addressed location, we must assume theft. Therefore, we do not issue refunds or replacements on orders identified by USPS as delivered.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS:

Items shipped via First Class International USPS mail cannot be tracked and will not be insured if your item is lost in the mail. Under these conditions we cannot offer refund or replacement. Estimated delivery time averages 15 business days from date shipped. When customs clearance procedures are required, it can cause delays beyond our original delivery estimates.

International customers are responsible for all import taxes, customs duties and fees levied by the destination country. All international orders will have full value declared on customs forms, and will be marked as "merchandise". If you are ordering an item as a gift for someone else and want to avoid import taxes, we recommend having it shipped to you first, then forwarding it to the recipient as we cannot classify items as "gifts" on customs forms.
Additional policies and FAQs
Any changes to your order must be made within 12 hours of placing your order.
